Is this club all about turning people into feminists? No opinions or views are forced upon anyone in our club. Topics like feminism, human rights, and women's studies are actively discussed, but we encourage everyone to get educated on these subjects before forming their own opinion. All the members are welcome to agree and disagree as long as the discussion is open and respectful. What's feminism? There are a lot of definitions of feminism, and supporters of this movement usually choose the one that resonates with them the most. We prefer to say that feminism is a belief that women are human beings and that they deserve the same rights, opportunities, and resources as men. This definition was inspired by Cheris Kramerie and Paula Treichler.  Do feminists hate men? No, feminism is not synonymous with man-hating. Feminism doesn't imply that women are superior to men or vice versa. The real meaning of this movement is to advocate for economic, political, social, and personal equality, acknowledging centuries of women's oppression throughout history. Why is feminism important?  Because today, millions of women are being systematically and continuously discriminated against in the workplace, at home, and at schools. Knowing your rights and how to demand them is crucial to creating a safe world for everyone to thrive in. "Freedom begins where it ends ignorance." —Victor Hugo Ignorance is usually the root of all issues in the world. It's the reason society is full of harmful stereotypes, clichés, and misconceptions. Accepting ignorance and refusing change means reinforcing inequality, discrimination, abuse, and violence. Facts, statistics, and historical evidence show that today's world is far from gender equality. This is why it is vital to challenge the status quo, be open-minded, and get educated in order to create a positive change.
