TASK 2: It is important to give children the chance to act independently and make their own decisions from early age. To what extent do you agree or disagree with this ide Some people deem the independence of children in what they do is quite essential especially from early age. Although parental involvement has a lot to do with the upbringing of a child, letting them decide for themselves, I believe, brings more positive effects not just in their careers but in their social life as well. The parental instincts, especially those pertaining care and protectiveness, always urge people to involve in what their children are doing. Most of the time, they prove to be useful, preventing children from repeating the same mistakes they did early one. Their experience serves as a lesson to get instruction and to follow to abstain from failing. Furthermore, most children feel stuck, especially at mid teenage-hood, before choosing what path to follow and in need of an empirical advice, and helping them with decision-making can do a lot to channel their talents in the right direction. From my personal experience, I had the same scenario back in my senior year at school. I was in a dilemma whether to continue with college or take a gap year and work part time to assist my parents with my college education. I was stuck and felt down for a long time, not consulting with my parents and thinking I would decide for my self; yet, this chronic stress affected me mentally. Then, after consulting with my parents, I decided to take a year off and then continue my studies. I believe I would not have put my self in that dilemma, especially depression, but for my stubbornness to make my decisions myself. On the other hand, some people tend to be restrictive when it comes to allow their children to decide which path to follow. Even in trivial matters, thinking they know the best, many parents do not take children’s preferences into consideration, leading children to think their opinion and preferences are of a little importance. According to many psychological studies, children who decide for themselves tend to mature faster and feel more independent. Their sense of freedom cultivates healthy relationship between them and their parents, for they think parents cares about their opinion when the decision being made are about them, which ultimately leading them to speak to their parents about anything and everything without hesitation. Moreover, there are children with fixed futures: they became what their parents want in the future. More and more children, especially in asian countries, are victim of this scheme, since their preferences and talents are not cared about. Finding true calling happens with experiencing many things, and children can only find it making individual decisions. Always pulling a lawyer or doctor out of child who has a flair for a music or a sport can affect negatively and might have severe future effects related to life satisfaction and so on. Children, at least to avoid making their whole life miserable, should be allowed to make their decisions themselves. In summary, some people assume it is important to to let children to deal with their decision, and I completely agree with this idea. Although there are some situation in which children might be in need of some assistance, most of the time children should be independent with their decisions. #task2 Words: 550 Time: 44 minutes Band: 6,5 @olimovposts

#sat you never find names like Chris Brown or Robin Allen in SAT but like Apichatpong Weerasethakul or Fritz Schlunegger 💀 they are meant to make you perplexed and overwhelmed so, as a tip, don’t read the names or just read the initials for the sake of not getting confused @olimovposts
