The way we treat time in this country always bothers me. Like you’re in your mid 40s and people already act like you’re old, like you have no chance to start over or do things differently for a better future. It’s like people stop seeing the future and just decide to maintain whatever they have for the rest of their lives.
This is what I’ve seen and learned. I’m not trying to judge anyone, but the whole mindset of ‘it’s already too late if you’re in your 40s’ really bothers me. One thing I hate hearing from my parents, who are just a little older than their mid 40s is that they’re “old.” I know the generational gap is real and it’s kind of everywhere, but there are so many people doing things differently even after 40, 50, and 60. I don’t know… this whole thing just always gets to me.

Imo People need to stop saying ‘this is an AI wrapper.’ That term should honestly cease to exist ... it’s nonsense.

I’ve had a really great time, and I hope someone got something out of it. Big thanks to the organizers of @DduIctClub for inviting me and letting me share my experiences.
That said, this is my last interview for a while. I’ve done a couple already, and it’s been the same story each time 🙂. If you want the details, you can check out the previous ones. The next one will be after I achieve the things I’m currently working towards. I don’t want to keep showing up telling the same stories. i think histories are cool when written, not when told.
I’ve already achieved something I once thought was only short term. The long term goal… well, that’s insane. So yeah… see you on the other side, I guess.

Pulled up to my cousin’s ሽምግልና today. (For my non-Ethiopian friends: it’s basically a pre-wedding thing where the groom sends elders to ask the bride’s family for permission… but these days it’s more of a tradition ... everyone already knows the answer 😁.) Honestly, I’m really happy for her; it was beautiful to see.
Bruh, I didn’t know we had THAT many relatives. I was getting introduced to new people every five minutes 😭. But it was actually really nice getting to know everyone, and the whole vibe had me dressing way more modest than usual 😅. Took a bunch of pics too.
Low key a reminder that we’re getting old… going to your cousin’s ሽምግልና hits different on the “damn, we’re grown now” part 😁.

Been at my cousin’s ሽምግልና today ( for non ethiopian freinds : basically a pre wedding ceremony in Ethiopian tradition where the groom sends respected elders to formally ask the bride’s family for permission. These days it’s more of a tradition; everyone already knows the answer 😁.)
Bruh, I didn’t know we had that many relatives. The amount of new people I got introduced to was crazy. It was really nice, tho and I think this is the most modest I’ve ever dressed in my life. Took a lot of pics too.
Honestly, it was a reminder that we’re getting old… going to your cousin’s ሽምግልና hits hard on the ‘we’re grown now’ part 😁.
