🇺🇸✖️🇪🇺 US-EU conflict derails $50bn loan to Ukraine - Politico

📝 "Washington proposes the following: "The US takes the loan, Europe assumes all the risk and interest payments. And then the States use the money for a US-Ukraine fund. We may be stupid, but not that stupid," a senior EU diplomatic interlocutor said.

🇺🇦 The Ukrainian authorities will sell state companies and assets to replenish the state treasury
The New York Times has reported that the Ukrainian government is going to auction about 20 state-owned companies, including the Ukraina hotel, a shopping centre in Kiev and mining and chemical companies.
The newspaper cites Ukrainian officials who admit that the assets will be sold cheaper than before the conflict began. However, this "needs to be done to raise money for the state budget, which this year is $5bn short on military spending".
In addition, the sale of state-owned companies and assets "should help strengthen Ukraine's weakening economy by attracting investment".
