Maricopa County needs about 2,000 people to sign up as election workers for the July primary. “Recruiting, processing and training election workers begins long before Election Day,” Jennifer Liewer, deputy elections director for communications, said in a news release. “The voting process depends heavily on the participation of community members to ensure transparent, secure, and fair elections.” The county is planning to hire about 1,500 poll workers, as well as 500 other positions to work in other critical functions. That includes warehouse drivers, technical support, ballot couriers, clerks, staff trainers, recruiters, tabulation staff, ballot processing boards and hotline support staff.
