| 5 |  Today, Finnish Interior Minister Mari Rantanen (PS) outlined the government’s plans for stricter laws on obtaining Finnish citizenship. She commented, "...I don’t think the citizenship law is decisive in a person’s choice of where to work." (https://yle.fi/a/74-20055443)
Basing policies on mere assumptions about what people "think" is dangerous. The Government has yet to provide a concrete reason as to why the residence requirement for naturalization should be extended to 8 years. Such a requirement could place Finland at a self-inflicted competitive disadvantage, diminishing its attractiveness compared to other developed nations.
In our survey of 651 individuals (published on 15 September 2023), a significant 69.5% indicated they would consider relocating from Finland if the Government's immigration policy were implemented. Notably, respondents expressed profound concerns about the proposal to extend the residence period for naturalization.

We look forward to meeting all of you in front of the Parliament (Eduskunta) 15-30 minutes before 12:00 on September 10th.
Several protests have already been organized by different groups, and we should continue our efforts without ceasing until changes in the program are announced.
During the event, we will represent Specialists based on the survey in which you participated, highlighting the significant numbers we have gathered. More than 70% of Specialists are willing to consider relocating from Finland if the new political program remains unchanged.
Numerous reputable companies will also join us to demonstrate solidarity with their employees. Our strength lies in unity, and together, we can make our voices heard by the government.

What's our message?
If the proposed 8-year naturalization and 3-month unemployment rules are adopted, Finland will become unattractive to foreign talent. These detrimental proposals must be removed from the program.
Who can come?
Everyone who supports Finland being attractive for specialists.
We are also collaborating closely with other groups of protestors who share our common goal of reversing this harmful program. However, our message is specifically targeted towards specialists (anyone with special skills). We will continue to announce pertinent protests, just as we have done in the past.
Can businesses or organizations participate?
Absolutely! We can assist in printing banners with your company name and reserving timeslots for speeches. You can also contribute by spreading this message at your workplace. Join the discussion on our Telegram channel.
Why September?
September marks the beginning of government discussions. We want to ensure that the parliament members hear the discontent of specialists like us.
