UGC NET Law: 10 Concepts NTA Keeps Repeating The 10 Repeated Concepts 1. Constitutional Law – Basic Structure & Amendments Focus on the Basic Structure doctrine, important constitutional amendments (especially 1st, 24th, 42nd, 44th, etc.), the Preamble, and landmark cases with their years. Matching questions on “which amendment did what” are common. 2. Article 32, Writs & PIL Article 32 vs Article 226, the five writs, differences between them, and the origin/landmark cases of Public Interest Litigation (e.g., Hussainara Khatoon). Years of key cases are frequently asked. 3. Schools of Jurisprudence Jurists + theories + books + schools. NTA loves matching-type questions: which jurist belongs to which school, who wrote which book, key statements of different schools. 4. Natural Justice & Judicial Review (Administrative Law) Maxims (audi alteram partem, nemo judex in causa sua, etc.), exceptions, related cases, and judicial review. Often paired with constitutional concepts. Also covers delegated legislation. 5. International Law ICJ, UN Charter (important articles), key treaties/conventions with years (Geneva Conventions, etc.), nationality, extradition, asylum. Matching convention years and SDG-related questions appear. 6. Contract Act Key sections (especially Section 2 definitions, offer, acceptance, consideration, agency), bailment, indemnity, guarantee, quasi-contracts, restraint of trade, doctrine of frustration, and void agreements. Section numbers and matching clauses are high-yield. 7. Environmental Law – Principles & Acts Precautionary principle, polluter-pays principle, public trust doctrine, sustainable development goals, and important environmental conventions/cases. Best studied together with International Law. 8. Family Law Maintenance, adoption, and Uniform Civil Code (UCC) related provisions and cases. 9. IPR Conventions Paris Convention, TRIPS, Berne Convention, and other major IPR treaties (years + key provisions). 10. Torts – Strict & Absolute Liability Principles of strict liability and absolute liability, landmark cases, and differences between them. Extra Tips from the Video • NTA frequently asks year-matching and clause/article-matching questions. • Read Bare Acts for precise wording of important sections and articles. • Focus on 10–15 landmark cases with years rather than trying to memorize everything. • The video ends with a summary table of the 10 concepts and a short “hack” on how NTA rotates these topics across attempts.
