🔆 India’s Growth Paradox 📍 What is it? ✅ India’s economy is witnessing strong GDP growth and rising corporate profits, but household incomes, savings, and purchasing power remain under pressure. ✅ This reflects a K-shaped recovery, where economic gains are concentrated among a few while many households face stagnant wages and rising debt. 📍 Key Indicators ✅ GDP growth projected at 6.9% (FY27) with fiscal deficit target of 4.3%. ✅ Household financial savings declined to 5.2% of GNDI (FY23) from the long-term 7–8% average. ✅ Household debt increased from 3% of GDP (FY14) to 5.7% (FY23); overall household debt crossed 45.5% of GDP. ✅ Growing dependence on credit cards, personal loans, and gold loans for consumption. 📍 Major Challenges ✅ Stagnant real wages despite robust economic growth. ✅ Rising income inequality due to K-shaped recovery. ✅ Weak rural wage growth, with casual agricultural wages growing by less than 1.5% annually. ✅ Increased reliance on debt-led consumption and declining household savings. 📍 Positive Trends ✅ Greater financialization of savings through SIPs, mutual funds, and equities. ✅ Higher housing investment supported by PMAY and easier credit access. ✅ RBI notes improving borrower quality despite rising consumer credit. 📍 Way Forward ✅ Rationalize GST on essential goods to reduce the burden on households. ✅ Strengthen MSMEs to generate labour-intensive employment. ✅ Shift towards progressive direct taxation. ✅ Increase investment in public healthcare and education to reduce household expenditure. ✅ Promote wage-led, inclusive growth alongside macroeconomic expansion. 📝 Mains Practice Question (15 Marks): “India’s high economic growth has not translated into proportional improvements in household incomes and living standards.” Examine the reasons behind this growth paradox and suggest measures to make growth more inclusive. #mains #GS3 #economy Join https://t.me/statistics_india https://t.me/statistics_india_chat

Law of Conditional Probability Definition: The Conditional Probability of an event A given that another event B has already occurred is the probability of A among all the outcomes where B has Occurred. 🖇Formula : P(A|B) = P(A 🧲 B)/ P(B) where; P(A 🧲 B) = Both A & B Occurred P(B) = Prob. of event B P(B) > 0 📊Important Properties: P(A|B) = 0 if P(A 🧲 B) = 0 P(A|B) = 1 if A ↪️ B & P(B) > 0 P(A|B) #️⃣ P(A) in general P(A U B|C) = P(A|C)+ P(B|C) - P(A 🧲 B|C) 📍Numerical Example: A Bag Contains 3️⃣🔴 & 2️⃣🔵 Balls, 2 Ball are Drawn one by one without replacement. What is the Prob. that the second ball is red given that the first ball was red? 📚Steps: 1. P(R1) = 3/5 Selection 🔴 Ball, Remining 2🔴 & 2️⃣🔵 2. P(R2|R1) =2/4 = 1/2 💠Real-Life Examples: 1.
