Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum spent nearly a decade building something special in Boston—and now it’s officially over.
The two helped lead the Celtics to the playoffs every season they were together, made six conference finals and two NBA Finals, and ultimately won the 2024 championship together. But after Brown was traded to Philadelphia this summer, the duo that became known as “The Jays” is now split up.
Tatum posted a heartfelt goodbye, saying he was grateful for the nine years, while Brown recently revealed they’ve barely spoken since the trade, though he emphasized that there’s nothing but respect on his end. Now, for the first time, they’ll be on opposite sides of one of the NBA’s biggest rivalries.
The Jays era in Boston is over. Now it’s Brown vs. Tatum.
