Promotion places suggestion A website that suggests communities, forums, websites where you may promote your business. Thus, you get initial users and some sort of validation. It's hard to find those places manually. You know a few subreddits, one forum, Product Hunt, but it's not enough in most cases. This website could provide you a list of possible websites to post your product. It asks for your target audience and matches you with the best places to promote. As an additional(paid) option, if you don't know what's your target audience, the website team will take a look at your product and provide recommendations. —- I'm still collecting feedback for Olwi - a website with a list of real people's and businesses' problems worth solving.

Store inventory prediction A tool that helps a business to predict how many items in an inventory it needs on a specific day based on a statistical demand. For example, I sell soap online. I make it by myself, but sometimes I order it from other businesses if there is a lack of my soap. I'd like to predict how much soap I need to make tomorrow, or on the weekend, thus to not pay additional fees to other businesses and provide a more smooth buying experience. Given I have numbers(how many orders I had yesterday, in the new year, etc.), there could be a tool that predicts the desired quantity of soap in my inventory.

I coded a tool that collects real problems. Having an idea isn't enough as most of you pointed out in the poll above. Understanding what problem you should solve is important part of creating a viable business. If you help someone to save their time, money, they'll pay you back with the resource you need. E.g. money. I struggled with finding problems people have. Of course, I have my own, but not all of them are critical for other people. I tried talking with people on LinkedIn, searching for people writing about their difficulties in various communities. I wanted to automate the search, so I could put the right keywords and get the problems automatically. I wrote a tool to retrieve posts from Reddit, it filters them and extracts people's/businesess' problems. If you're interested, give it a try and let me know what do you think. Read how to work with this data Note: some data can be irrelevant. I use a natural language processing neural network, the model is constantly improving.

What is more important to create a viable business?

Some time ago I wrote a post about building a product or an appendage. Roughly speaking, an appendage is a helper product that is built around another product. For example, a Telegram bot. I want to share this blog post on how to make money building Shopify apps. It's a great 8000-words guide. Though, the main difficulty isn't the building itself, but finding the right problem to solve in this market. The article's author covers that too. If you need more references of possible examples, see these posts where people talk about their real problems with Shopify: - Is there a way to have orders exported automatically to a spreadsheet? - Shopify inventory management - Product migrations from X to Shopify - Some Mailchimp and Shopify problem - Anyone know an app for automating individual dropship purchases with an external vendor’s website? Also, I'm working on a thing, that collects posts from Reddit and extract only those where people complain about problems they encounter in their business. Difficulties, struggles, things they want to be better, automated. It may hint you what problem you could solve. Let me know if you're interested.

A tool that calculates the optimal time to sell a used car Taking into account depreciation curve, increased maintenance, insurance cost difference, etc. Calculate the buy-sell frequency that minimizes cost per year.

Problem(source): Photo management software that can group photos by date+location? Is there any Photo management software or even cloud solution (not Google photos) that can group+sort my photos by date+location? I have many unsorted images and I just want it to automatically create albums of the countries that pictures were taken in and show the dates it was taken in that country automatically. Can be Linux or windows or cloud. Idea: Photo management software That is in cloud with a subscription-based model. There is PhotoInsight for Windows, but why to restrict the solution to an OS? Also, this software isn't subscription based. It should be great at searching images by metadata, has a possibility to sort, organize photos by a criteria.

Selling ads on cars A platform that helps businesses to put their ads on other people's (drivers) cars. The businesses have an opportunity to show their brand on things that move often to many places. The drivers can have an additional income. It will depend on how many kilometers a driver passes per month.

Watch movie with a friend online Torrent movies, Netflix or YouTube. It creates a room where a video is synchronized between all members. Everybody can play\pause a video and it plays\pauses for all.

Lunch with interesting people A match-people app where you pick people with whom you want to have a meal. The meal isn't important here, just an idea to have an interesting conversation when you eat. The app recommends people you may be interested to talk to. There are their profiles with their interests, topics they want to talk about, the food they like and dislike. If you think you want to have lunch with the person, (s)he will be notified and can accept or reject your proposal. It shouldn't be a dating app.

Video editing tool Not just an idea, it's a trend. People seek simple video editing software. Of course, there are a lot of them. But you can create an app aimed at niche users. For example, tiktokers. Or, courses tutors, students in Asia, etc. The video tools we have currently are for the wide public and oftentimes they're full of unnecessary things, UI is complex and rendering/preview is slow. Is there a space for improvement? For sure. You may dive deeper and create something like an app that edits short videos by adding a music track, a few visual effects, it allows uploading directly to TikTok. Aimed at tiktokers from Germany.

Financial manager Problem: Managing your personal finances is hard: making sure you’re not overpaying for streaming services, understanding ways that you can cut back on spending, making sure that you “pay yourself first”, and more. Solution: A service that serves as your personal financial butler with the sole purpose of eliminating financial waste from your life. The app/platform (which could either be a mobile wallet or analyze existing transactions in your current bank account on a recurring basis). This could even be as simple as upload your bank account statement to have all your purchases analyzed for a specific time period. For example, some things that this financial butler would do include: - Analyzing your subscription services and recommending when you should unsubscribe (e.g. if you have both Blue Apron and Hello Fresh, it would automatically recommend that you cancel one) - Automatically canceling subscriptions for you after your free trial is over (c’mon… we all do it!) - Examining your transactions to see if you are spending “within limits.” One of these limits could be modeled after The Richest Man in Babylon (10% savings, 10% debt, 10% investments, 10% charity, 60% living expenses including mortgage) and another one could be modeled after FYRE (read more about it in this New York Times article) - Giving users a “spending score” so they can gauge how much money they are saving relative to peers.

Skin care planner An app that takes photos of your face and/or some parts of the body, analyzes them and gives recommendations about how to do skin care for your specific case. It helps you to find the best products to cure your skin. Or, maintain/improve its health. It's useful if the app is trained on a lot of data to give you the same or better results as a session with a medical professional. Thus, you save money and may have better recommendations.

Product Validation Platform We all understand the importance of validating the market need of a product before building one. The 3 main ways entrepreneurs validate their idea is by either starting a Kickstarter campaign, create a landing page and measure traffic by channeling ads, or conduct user interviews to validate pain point. Kickstarter has a high barrier to entry as the project has to be near finished with high quality ads to increase the chances of success. Measuring traffic from a landing page only measures the interest but in no way guarantees conversion. Conducting user interviews is extremely time-consuming and the data can be quite open to interpretation. In terms of the quality of validation, Kickstarter rank the highest because people give you real money for your product. But how can we invest the money to create a high quality campaign without knowing if our campaign will work out? Currently, we need to invest the money first, then we find out. What I suggest is a Kickstarter but with a lower barrier of entry. Creators or founders can post their product idea in the forms of prototype, renders or Figma prototypes at the "Validation" stage. Backers can "invest" their money to earn early perks at this stage. However, the founder can choose to proceed to "Crowdfunding" stage if the project is validated. Else, the backers get their money back. By @Collaboroovin
