| 6 | The past three years, especially, have been brand-new experiences for me. When I first started doing this, the business realm felt rather simple. We, creatives, were sought by clients because they needed something they couldn’t, or simply didn’t have the time to make themselves. They came to us with their ideas; we helped turn them into something real, and somehow, that created this beautiful little mutualism between us.
But over the years, the landscape changed. Quite a lot, actually. We’re no longer sharing this little realm only with other creatives. Another fellow is sitting at the table now, and that’s AI. Yes, Artificial Intelligence. With all these growing AI options, clients now have a much easier and more comfortable way to fulfill their needs without having to hire us. With the world at their fingertips, they could become unstoppable. But you know what? With us celebrating our 5th birthday, it proves that for your human wants, your human feelings, you need humans, too, to translate them for you.
This creative work can be a side gig for some of us. A little medium to do what we love, to indulge in our hobbies, to have fun with our craft. But for some of us, too, this is also our livelihood. What we make here helps sustain our lives. You might see the amount you pay as something transactional. And technically, yes, it is. You pay, we make something for you. That’s how a commission works. But the meaning is beyond a mere transaction. With your money, you might be paying someone’s tuition. You might be helping someone settle their bills. You might be putting dinner on someone’s family table. You might even be helping someone climb a little closer to the dream they’ve been carrying around for years. | 150 |
