| 3 |  Astrophysicist and Nobel laureate Subrahmanyan Chandrasekhar used to travel 80 kilometers every week from the Yerkes Observatory to the University of Chicago, where he taught a course attended by only two students. When asked why he spent his time this way, the professor replied that they were very good students.
In 1957, Lee Tsung-Dao and Yang Chen-Ning were awarded the Nobel Prize in Physics. The course taught by Subrahmanyan Chandrasekhar became the only course in history where all its attendees received a Nobel Prize

| 8 | The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has announced the final results for the UPSC Civil Services examination 2023 on Tuesday (April 16).
At least six candidates from Assam have cleared the UPSC CSE 2023. They are:
1. Abhijnan Hazarika - AIR 172
2. Ricky Lohkar Pradhan - AIR 230
3. Ishwari Deka - AIR 320
4. Rituraj Sharma - AIR 462
5. Bhaskata Saikia - AIR 552
6. Kallul Hazarika - AIR 992
This year, a total of 1016 candidates have been shortlisted for IAS, IPS, IFS and many other branches of the civil services under the Central Government of India. These include 347 general, 115 EWS, 303 OBC, 165 SC and 86 ST category candidates.
This year, Aditya Srivastava and Animesh Pradhan have scored AIR 1 and 2 respectively, followed by Donuru Ananya Reddy at the third spot.
The UPSC Civil Service Preliminary Examinations 2023 was conducted on May 28, and the UPSC Mains examination was conducted on September 15, 16, 17, 23, and 24, 2023.
The final personality test/interview round was held phase-wise from January 2 to April 9, 2024.
The toppers have been selected on the basis of their performance in all three rounds – prelims exam, mains exam and the interview round conducted by UPSC.
The commission has kept the result of 355 recommended candidates provisional.
