US Open 🇺🇸 🇺🇸 Tiafoe @ 1.69 / -144 (bet105) - 1.5u LIKE IF TAILING! ❤️ I’ve been a frequent backer of Tiafoe this season, and looking at these odds today, I’m still not sure he is getting enough respect. Perhaps some of that has to do with Michelsen not dropping a single set en route, but I’m not sure how much weight I want to put on that heading into the biggest match of his career so far. If anything, the fact that he hasn’t really been pushed yet means we still don’t know how he’ll respond when things inevitably get more complicated. These numbers would probably look about right to me in a regular tour match, but in an extended format, I think Tiafoe should be shorter. He has repeatedly shown a strong level against this calibre of opposition — and even better players, to be honest — while also having a considerably higher floor than Michelsen at this stage. Michelsen certainly has the upside to make this competitive, but over best-of-five, I trust Tiafoe’s level and experience considerably more. For me, the gap between these two should be wider than the current prices suggest.

US Open 🇺🇸 Khachanov @ 2.57 / +157 (bet105) - 0.75u LIKE IF TAILING! ❤️ Let’s see how Tien backs up that rollercoaster of a match that finished very late at night. Obviously, these two arrived in New York in very different form, but now that we’re deep into the second week, I’m not sure that argument carries as much weight anymore. For me, this has the potential to be much closer than the prices indicate. I’m also not sure this is an ideal spot for Tien to be favored at his home Slam, especially in the weaker part of the draw where expectations around him are only growing. Can he back up what he did in the previous round? The American is an excellent baseliner who can outlast the majority of his opposition, but this time he faces someone who doesn’t mind physical battles at all — in fact, Khachanov embraces them. After what Tien went through in his last match, I’m not sure that’s an ideal matchup in these circumstances. Khachanov, meanwhile, has quietly made his way through the draw and is playing somewhat under the radar. That’s a nice position to be in when facing someone carrying considerably more attention and expectations. Overall, I see this as a closer matchup than the market does, and at these prices, the value lies with the underdog. --- 🔥 Boost your odds by 4% with Bet105 token! US Open 🇺🇸 🇦🇷 F. Cerundolo @ 2.38 / +138 (bet105) - 0.75u LIKE IF TAILING! ❤️ Feels like a sneaky good spot for Cerundolo. He had his troubles coming into this event, but given how he escaped in his last few matches, he should be playing with house money now — and that’s a nice position to be in for someone who can be mentally wobbly. And just like that, his “bad form” suddenly feels like a thing of the past and we shouldn't forget the level the Argentine is capanle of producing when confident. I’m not doubting Blockx’s potential, but for me, he can still be a bit shaky fitness-wise and remains somewhat unproven when matches get lengthy. In this extended format and quite deep in the tournament, I think that deserves a bit more consideration than the current prices suggest.

US Open 🇺🇸 🇩🇪 Struff @2.50 / +150 (bet105) - 0.75u LIKE IF TAILING! ❤️ Fran Cerundolo really doesn’t look like he is enjoying himself on court at the moment, and when he is not in the right mood, I doubt he can be a clear favorite against tour-level opposition. Struff has been finding a better level at Grand Slams in recent times, and although he can be erratic himself, at least we are getting him well into plus-money territory. Given Cerundolo’s current level and body language, I just don’t see enough between these two to justify such a significant gap in the prices.

US Open 🇺🇸 🇵🇾 Vallejo @ 1.75 / -133 (bet105) - 1u LIKE IF TAILING! ❤️ Monfils obviously brings the aura and the show in his last-ever Grand Slam event and should definitely have the crowd behind him during Monday’s night session, but there is a huge but — this is best-of-five, and the Frenchman is 39. Vallejo is obviously not the biggest threat on hard courts nowadays, but he is pretty consistent from the baseline. One thing I like about these South American clay-courters, even on hard courts, is that they will battle and drag their opponents into physical matches. Monfils can still redline for a set or even two, but there is a reason why he hasn’t won a deciding set since last July. At this stage of his career, I’m just not sure I can give him more than a 40% chance in this longer format. US Open 🇺🇸 🇦🇺 Sweeny @ 3.49 / +249 (bet105) - 0.5u LIKE IF TAILING! ❤️ Moutet revealed a few weeks ago that he had been dealing with a left wrist injury for almost a year before eventually withdrawing from Cincinnati and Winston-Salem. That certainly helps explain some of his below-par results this season. At the time, he said: “I kept playing, gritted my teeth and pushed through the pain all year… but I was not able to perform the way I wanted. Living with the pain every day has become too difficult. <> I will be back when I am ready.” So let’s get this straight: this was an issue he had been playing through for almost a year, the pain eventually became too much to continue, and he has even been wearing a wrist brace off court. Yet just a few weeks later, we’re supposed to assume everything is fine? And the hefty Grand Slam first-round appearance fee has nothing to do with him giving it a go here? I’m not completely sold on that. Moutet still remains the likelier winner because there is a clear talent gap between him and Sweeny, but that’s not really the question at these prices. With such recent and seemingly significant wrist concerns, I simply can’t make the Frenchman near 70-75% chance in a best-of-five format.

US Open 🇺🇸 🇺🇸 Kovacevic @ 2.08 / +108 (bet105) - 1u LIKE IF TAILING! ❤️ Vacherot has been pretty uninspiring since returning from his foot injury, and I still have doubts about whether he is fully fit. He has looked far from his best from the baseline in recent matches, with his movement noticeably slow at times. If it was simply a case of post-injury rust, you would have thought getting some reps and match fitness in Winston-Salem would have been beneficial, but that wasn’t the case. Watching him recently has also made me wonder whether this is more than just rust. Perhaps the injury disrupted the momentum and confidence he had built during his fairytale rise on tour, and we are now seeing something closer to his previous Challenger-level baseline. That’s obviously just speculation, but at the moment there isn’t much evidence that the level he showed at the end of last season and the beginning of this one is back. Vacherot may eventually rediscover that level, but right now I can only judge him on what he is showing, and that hasn’t been particularly convincing. Because of that, I’m happy to side with Kovacevic as a slight underdog, especially in this longer format at the US Open, which is rarely forgiving for players arriving with questionable fitness.

Cincinnati 🇺🇸 🇵🇹 Borges @ 2.44 / +144 (bet105) - 1u LIKE IF TAILING! ❤️ As I said earlier this week, players who aren’t used to going this deep at big events rarely manage to back it up when transitioning from the Canadian Masters to Cincinnati. Nakashima did an exceptional job turning his match around yesterday, but this feels like a tough spot with no day off. He looked quite leggy until he saved those match points and got a noticeable boost from there. Borges thrives in physical matches, and given Nakashima’s recent workload, I think he has a good chance of making this another demanding one. Overall, I think this match is closer than the odds imply.
