NRMP Planning Voluntary ROL Lock Pilot for FY 2026   Virtual interviews have dramatically reduced cost and time associated with recruitment. However, applicants and programs are interested in allowing applicants to explore the location and culture of a program without being required to interview in-person. A voluntary rank order list (ROL) lock was seen as a way to allow programs the option of locking their ROL and then providing a time for interviewed applicants to visit the program secure in the knowledge that visiting (or not) would not impact their ranking on the list. The NRMP Lock Pilot group, which includes representation from the Alliance, is preparing for a pilot in internal medicine, pediatrics, and vascular surgery in the 2025-2026 cycle by reviewing past data and discussing potential guidelines for applicants and programs. #MATCH2026 #NRMP
