This is how many people are left to face off with the police now, once the police started (predictably) cracking heads. Compare this to how many people were still in the march before organizers convinced the crowd to head back to the monument and disperse (above).

This is why it's pointless to try to appease the police. Adam Toledo had his hands up when he was shot. Why would the cops care if the protest wanted to peacefully disperse? they know their role is to brutalize, arrest, murder, and control. And it's what they do, no matter how nice you treat them.

An arrest just happened in Chicago, and it looks like protestors have encircled the squad car and are tussling with police lines
