Scammers have lured victims into fake investment chat groups by pretending to be investment experts and offering “free investment lessons”.

| 3 |  More than $5.4 million has been lost to Government Officials Impersonation Scams (GOIS) since April 2026. 😱
Scammers, impersonating Government officials, have been accusing victims of being involved in criminal activities.
They have asked victims to make cash transfers via ATMs to ‘safety accounts’ for investigation purposes.

Watch out! Scammers are out to prey on fans looking to score tickets! 🎫
⚠️They may pose as ticket sellers and lure victims to pay for tickets that they won’t deliver.
⚠️They may also sell invalid tickets that victims realise only when they are denied entry at the concert venue.
Stay safe from scams!
✅ Buy tickets for BTS concerts in Singapore only through the official ticket agent.

| 5 |  😲 Scammers have been taking over people’s WhatsApp accounts! They will then use the accounts to scam victims’ contacts!
They trick victims into sharing their WhatsApp OTPs by posing as their friends, and claiming that their OTPs were wrongly sent to the victims.

On 28 April 2026, eligible families with three or more children will receive $1,000 in Large Family LifeSG Credits (LFLC) 👶
You will receive an SMS from 'gov.sg' when credits are disbursed.
Do note that there is no application needed. The sum will be *automatically credited* into the LifeSG digital wallet of the child's Child Development Account (CDA) trustee.

| 11 |  ⚠️ WhatsApp OTP (One-Time Password) scams are on the rise
For such scams, scammers would attempt to log into victims’ WhatsApp accounts by entering their mobile numbers on WhatsApp and request for a WhatsApp verification OTP. This would trigger an SMS containing the OTP to be sent to victims.
Scammers would pretend to be victims’ friends and ask victims for the OTP, claiming that the OTP was sent to them by mistake.
Upon receiving the OTPs, scammers would take over victims’ WhatsApp accounts and impersonate victims to scam others in victims’ contact lists.
*What can you do?*
✅ Never share your OTPs with anyone
✅ Remove unknown devices linked to your WhatsApp accounts by going to Settings > Linked Devices
✅ Enable the Two-Step Verification Feature on your WhatsApp account

Scammers have been impersonating DBS and POSB banks and sent victims emails claiming that their digital tokens have expired.
Victims are tricked into clicking embedded links to ‘re-activate’ their tokens. The links lead to fake websites that steal victims’ personal and banking details. 🎣
Remember:
✅ Banks will never send you texts or emails with clickable links.
✅ Never disclose your personal information, internet banking and social media account log-in details, and one-time passwords (OTPs) to anyone
✅ Always check the sender’s addresses for discrepancies, and call the bank’s fraud hotline immediately if you suspect your banking or card details to be compromised

| 16 | 💜 BTS Fans: Don’t Let Scammers Steal Your BTS Comeback Hype! 🎤
Did you know that in 2025, $615,000 was lost to concert ticket scams in Singapore?! 💸
Although details of the ticket sales have not yet been announced for the BTS concert in Singapore, here's how you can do your part in the meantime to ACT against scams:
✅ Buy K-POP merchandise only through official retailers.
✅ Only buy your tickets from the official ticket agent. Do not buy resold tickets as they may not be honoured at the event venue and ticket holders may be turned away.
✅ Be wary of red flags such as request for advance payments and large discounts offered for faster transactions when shopping for merchandise online.

Scammers trick victims to make deposits or advanced payments for “pre-order items” such as Pokémon trading cards or K-pop items. Victims only realise they have been scammed when they failed to receive the items or when sellers become uncontactable.
Remember, only pay using secure payment options offered by the e-commerce platform, or cash on delivery so that you can inspect the products before making payment.
