Had a great suggestion on Twitter after I posted this today. Apparently next Saturday 21st August is the anniversary of the day ANZAC ‘Battle of Hill 60’ began. The idea expressed was that all Australians who wanted to honour the ANZACs could simply pay their respects at the local ANZAC memorial on Saturday 21st August 2021. I’m not a war historian, nor do I believe in sacrificing innocent lives but I do believe the fallen soldiers truly felt they were going to war to protect their families back home, and to fight for freedom. I do not think they made the ultimate sacrifice so corrupt governments in bed with corrupt pharmaceutical companies could dictate every aspect of their descendants’ lives. I believe the ANZACs fought for our right to choose how to live our free lives in a free country. The ANZACs would want us to at least have choice. True freedom for their sacrifice.
