| 9 | WHAT MAN ARE YOU?

Solomon, in the following passage of the book of Proverbs describes special desirable features that should define the character of a man.
These are honourable, golden features that, as a man, you will do well to cultivate in your life, and they should be the rays of the glory that adorns you.
"5. Counsel in the heart of man is like water in a deep well, but a man of understanding draws it out.
6. Many a man proclaims his own loving-kindness and goodness, but a faithful man who can find?
7. The righteous man walks in his integrity; blessed (happy, fortunate, enviable) are his children after him."
Proverbs 20:5-7 (Amplified Bible, Classic Edition, 1987)
Therefore you must endeavour to be:
1. A man of [wise] counsel,
2. A man of understanding,
3. A faithful man,
4. A righteous man,
5. A man of integrity,
6. A father.
Some questions to consider:
-What does it mean to be this kind of described above?
-How can you become that man described by the Holy Spirit through Solomon?
-Are you actively seeking to cultivate these special, golden features in your life as a man?
Prayer:
FATHER, I have recognized the fact that I have failed in my own life as a man. But I do not want failure to define me. I want to be the man described in Proverbs 20:5-7. I want to be a man after your own heart. Precious Holy Spirit I ask you to help me cultivate and produce these special features in my life and make me productive, fruitful and a change agent of the Eternal Kingdom of Heaven, the Kingdom of God. In the MIGHTIEST NAME OF JESUS CHRIST my LORD and PRECIOUS SAVIOUR I pray, Amen! | 674 |
| 10 | DEFINING LOVE

"But concerning brotherly love [for all other Christians], you have no need to have anyone write you, for you yourselves have been [personally] taught by God to love one another."
1 Thessalonians 4:9 (Amplified Bible, Classic Edition, 1987)
Love is a deliberate commitment to willingly give yourself to another because of the pleasure that it brings you, as well as the long-term or eternal benefits both to you and to the object of your love.
To say to someone else that you love them, you are essentially saying:
1. I will be spent for you. I want to give myself to you and for you.
2. I want to be with you for eternity.
3. I will commit myself to your well-being.
4. I accept the call to duty to be there for you always, to take care of, to provide for, and protect you, irrespective of how I feel.
5. I accept all of you.
6. I honour you.
7. I appreciate you.
Love entails:
- commitment,
- duty,
- unconditional acceptance,
- long tenureship
- an unending, never-failing commitment and focus,
- deliberate, willful, unwavering intention to seek and focus on the good and the greater good,
- patience endurance and long-suffering,
- rubbishing the, sometimes powerfully distracting and confusing temporary whimsical and capricious desires.
"12. And may the Lord make you to increase and excel and overflow in love for one another and for all people, just as we also do for you,
13. So that He may strengthen and confirm and establish your hearts faultlessly pure and unblamable in holiness in the sight of our God and Father, at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ (the Messiah) with all His saints (the holy and glorified people of God)! Amen, (so be it)!"

"Love never fails [never fades out or becomes obsolete or comes to an end]. As for prophecy (the gift of interpreting the divine will and purpose), it will be fulfilled and pass away; as for tongues, they will be destroyed and cease; as for knowledge, it will pass away [it will lose its value and be superseded by truth]."
