The Ojo de Agua Las 3 Raíces council, representing 41 families, says local authorities failed to notify them for more than two years and that the community has recently faced intimidation and attempted eviction. Spokeswoman Zurima Carvajal reported that shots were fired at her home and called on Acting President Delcy Rodríguez, Agriculture Minister Vladimir Padrino and the National Land Institute (INTI) to investigate and restore the group’s title. The collective began occupying the land in 2018 after reporting abandoned estates to authorities and secured its title in 2020 following the 2018 Admirable Campesino March.
