✍️EXAM PAPER: 19.09.2024
TASK 2: Many people aim to achieve a balance between work and other parts of lives, but few people achieve it. What are the causes of the problem? How to overcome it?
With an increased pressure at work due to overwhelming demands, individuals have to spend far longer hours at office to complete the projects or to meet the deadline. While some feel there are tremendous factors that contribute to make this situation far worse, properly planning all activities and effective measures taken by government will assist people to strike the leisure and work balance.
In terms of major causes that render a common trend today, which is a prolonged time of employment and the high cost of living might be the primary reasons. An exorbitant price of products and increased living standards in cities urge individuals to stay longer in their workplace. High bills along with increased competition for scarce resources put an immense pressure. One other root of the problem is inflation, the value of local currency is rapidly declining, depriving people to enjoy life, and it prevents from keeping a balance. A good case in point is my home country Uzbekistan where the prices of everyday products of consumption is rising steadily. This, in turn, affects on every citizen who intends to spend more time with his family members to develop stronger relationships.
Regarding the possible solutions to effectively mitigate its effects on our lives, it is indispensable that each person, irrespective of his income should pay a particular attention on time management skill. A careful planning will reduce the redundant burden, prioritize important activities. Consequently, the quality of live will remain higher, as after completion a certain task, people, for example, would arrange picnic with their close friends or family members. As a result, there would be a high rate of satisfaction, productivity and better mood. As a last measure, officials have to take actions to reduce the high inflation rates, and thus citizens will have better living conditions, maintaining the work and life balance. Not only does it impact on individuals, but also this effort boosts the work efficiency, and it enables sufficient money for a vacation or other leisure time pursuits.
In conclusion, only through governmental support together with careful planning of most important activities can we expect to strike a balance. Therefore, every individual ought to follow these simple steps to have a higher satisfaction.

Some people believe that teenagers should concentrate on all school subjects equally. Others believe that teenagers should focus on the subjects that they are best at or that they find the most interesting. Discuss both views.
With increased competition in the labor market, it has become common to prepare for university admission to successfully land a job. While some highlight the importance of learning all subjects, others emphasis on taking courses that adolescents have an interest. In my opinion, the latter option has far more privileges to further progress with immense passion to study.
On the one hand, majority advocates the concept of studying all subjects, as young adolescents are immature and lack experience that is vital for them to decide what subjects to study. For example, individuals under the age of 18 are unlikely to know whether they intend to be doctors, engineers or lawyers. Before they reach the age of sufficient level of maturity, they can barely comprehend their future plans in terms of choosing profession. Therefore, one cannot deny the significance of learning all courses, since these classes shape their world view, and it serves as a solid foundation for their long-term goals.
The proponents of taking specific courses, on the other hand, present several reasons to support their stance. Teenagers, who have strong determination and commitment to their goals, have clear vision about the profession they intend to pursue. Thus, it is indispensable to those to pursue the academic disciplines that they have passion. Not only does it create the high-quality of workforce, but also it guarantees professionals who will devote themselves for the further development of science. Hardly had many scientists and scholars pursued merely their interests, there would not have been the lifesaving inventions. This, in turn, results in better living standards and personal fulfilment from the job they are employed.
In my view, forcing children to study all subjects will render disappointment from studies all-together. Adopting a policy that encourages each teen to select disciplines that he shows superb academic performance will mark a remarkable milestone to attain outstanding results in their chosen fields.
In conclusion, I believe individuals, irrespective of their interests ought to study all subjects until they are in grade 10. However, only through taking into account the best abilities of students can we expect to yield positive outcomes and growth in science and other domains.

Hello Tom,
I hope this letter finds you well, the reason I am writing it is to share my experience and give you some advice, as I have recently bought a new washing machine to do some laundry.
With regards the item, which I bought. It is a brand-new washing machine with updated features, and it came out with improvements. It is LG, that has a small sensor screen. It is user friendly and its multifunctional, which makes it convenient to use at complex tasks to wash.
Looking at its technical features, its quick wash function increases the productivity while using it. My previous washing machine would use much water and energy, and its noise was very loud. However, this newly updated LG, it outperforms its all rivals in the market.
In terms of my advice, I strongly recommend to look for other versions, as they could compete with the price range, and possibly Artel has identical properties, having similar functions and options. Therefore, before buying, please make some research on the internet about various types of washing machines, which have appealing functions to you. As soon as you make final informed decision, then it is wise to buy it from store or order it online.
Kind regards,
James Bond
The given graph illustrates the amount of coffee along with tea imported by four distinct countries.
From an overall perspective, the volume of tea was remarkably higher in the US together with the UK, whereas coffee was frontrunner merchandize in two countries, particularly Germany and Canada. Of particular note is the former item, which had by far the largest share in American and British markets compared to the latter.
With regards to English speaking countries, the US and the UK, these two figures imported relatively modest amount of coffee; however, in Britain the tonnage of tea comprised 160k. It had been the predominant in the market. The tea sales in the United States of America, on other hand, had accounted for roughly under 120k tones. These two countries consumed coffee modestly compared to other two states.
Looking at minor details, Canada as well as Germany had small amount of consumption of both goods. The former had 40k tones of coffee, whereas the latter followed slightly higher, standing at over 40k. These two countries failed to overcome the sales of the first two group of states (Great Britain and America). Interestingly, Germany had almost identical figures in both coffee and tea sales; nevertheless, Canada marked the 20k tones threshold of tea, being the country with the least amount of consumption.
