TVXQ/Tohoshinki Featured on 2024 FNS Music Festival Night 1 🎤
TVXQ appeared on yesterday’s broadcast of 2024 FNS Music Festival Night 1 ✨
They performed “Silent Night” together with other artists and showcased “SWEET SURRENDER” at 10 PM! 🎤
Did you catch TVXQ’s singing and performance? ♪
Before their performance yesterday, Changmin adjusted his vocal techniques in the dressing room according to his physical and vocal condition from touring. He also did some stretching exercises to prepare for the dance performance 💪.
After rehearsals, Yunho reviewed the footage on the monitor and told the staff, “This part is difficult no matter how many times I do it!” while cheering himself on with a determined “Let’s do this!” 😉
During the broadcast, Yunho and Changmin could also be seen humming along with other singers while waiting in the green room ☺️

Together with the dancers, Yunho and Changmin said, “We’re off!” and headed to the stage 🕺
In the festive winter season leading up to Christmas, they performed in white jackets that perfectly suited the occasion ✨
The duo greeted fellow performers and staff they hadn’t seen in a long time with a cheerful, “It’s been a while! How have you been?” and happily caught up on recent events and updates♪

Changmin: Continuing as artists for 20 years is something we think is amazing, even for ourselves (laughs). Whether it's 20 years, 15 years, or 10 years, not just limited to Tohoshinki, I truly respect and admire people who single-mindedly support an artist for such a long time with passion. Everyone has their own life, and I think there are many ups and downs in daily living.
In Japan, there seems to be a trend of calling it "oshi-katsu" (supporting your favorite stars) (laughs). I'm sure there are waves in that, too, with times of intense passion and more settled periods. However, as Yunho just said, when you go to a live concert, you naturally feel that heat again (laughs). At the venue, those passionate feelings naturally come out. In this era where there is so much information, continuing to support one thing for a long time isn't easy. But entrusting your dreams and hopes to someone with such unwavering passion—that, I think, is a beautiful way of the human heart.
Yunho: Everyone treasures their lives along with our music. When we perform live, we can feel how our music overlaps with life itself, and that creates an irreplaceable connection. Thanks to that, I now feel a strong sense of responsibility about being Tohoshinki. It's not just about thinking, "Let's do our best!"—there's a sense that we're living together with our fans. I truly want to continue being a light of hope for everyone in the future. I mean it.

Continuing to be a Light of Hope
Whether their goals are set far or near, the duo’s attitude of not ranking achievements remains consistent. While deeply connected at their core, they approach their targets in their own unique ways. Currently, they are in the midst of their anniversary tour, which runs through April next year. TVXQ’s live performances are a visual representation of their life journey, resonating deeply with audiences.
When asked how their approach to live performances has evolved over 20 years, Yunho shared:
"What I cherish during live performances hasn’t changed—simply wanting the audience to have fun. However, it’s true that there’s a growing warmth in how performances end nowadays, which I think stems from how our music has colored parts of our fans’ lives. Life brings many challenges, but the shared joy and excitement we create during our shows have only intensified over the years."
Yunho also reflected on performing with their juniors, RIIZE, at last year’s SMTOWN LIVE festival:
"It was touching that they looked up to us as inspirations, but from their perspective, we’re now part of the 'classics' category (laughs). It also reignited a competitive energy in me to keep pushing forward. Every live performance brings new inspirations."
Changmin added:
"For me, a live show is about embracing the spontaneity of the moment—the weather, our mood, and the changes that occur. I want to deliver a performance that fans can talk about on their way home, like, 'Changmin sang this part a little differently today.' That’s the beauty of live performances: creating irreplaceable memories. Instead of striving for perfection, I like incorporating some playfulness, which I believe keeps fans curious about what’s next."
Yunho agreed:
"Fans have continuously entrusted us with their hopes. Longtime supporters may find their circumstances have changed from five or ten years ago, but the love they show us during our performances feels like that of family. That affection drives us to keep giving our best."
