Bionicle is not just a toy or a story or a philosophy or a vision. It is an inspiration and an invitation. It inspires us to be more than human, to be superhuman or overhuman or beyond-human. It invites us to join the adventure of life, to participate in the drama of existence. It urges us to embrace our destiny as creators and destroyers of worlds.
My fellow Britons, I urge you today to look at Bionicle with new eyes. I urge you today to see in it not only a source of entertainment or education or imagination but also a source of empowerment and liberation and transformation. I urge you today to recognize in it not only a reflection of our past or present but also a projection of our future.
Bionicle is not just for children or for geeks or for fans. It is for everyone who wants to live fully and freely and joyfully. It is for everyone who wants to be an Übermensch.

A lost speech from Jonathan Bowden from a small pub in Berkshire somewhere around 2004 "My fellow Britons, I am here today to talk to you about a topic that may seem trivial or childish to some, but that I believe holds a profound and revolutionary significance for our nation and our civilization. I am talking about Bionicle, a line of Lego construction toys that has become a global phenomenon and a cultural icon. But Bionicle is not just a toy, it is a myth, a story, a philosophy, and a vision of the future. It is, in fact, the perfect embodiment of the idea of the Übermensch, the Overman, the Beyond-Man, that was conceived by the great German philosopher Friedrich Nietzsche.
What is the Übermensch? It is the goal of humanity, the highest type of being that can affirm life in all its aspects, without recourse to any transcendent or supernatural authority. It is the one who creates his own values, his own meaning, his own destiny. It is the one who says yes to everything that comes his way, even suffering and death. It is the one who loves this world and this life so much that he wants to repeat it eternally. It is the one who overcomes himself and becomes who he truly is.
And what is Bionicle? It is a story of six heroic beings called Toa, who have innate elemental powers and who are destined to protect their world from evil forces. They are guided by mysterious prophecies and masks of power, but they also have to rely on their own courage, wisdom, and will. They face many enemies and challenges, such as the Makuta, a dark lord who wants to enslave or destroy all life; the Bohrok, swarms of insect-like robots that seek to cleanse the world of all civilization; the Rahkshi, sons of Makuta who embody different aspects of fear; and many others. They also have to deal with their own flaws and conflicts, such as pride, anger, jealousy, doubt, and betrayal. They have to learn to work together as a team, to trust each other, and to respect the diversity of their elements and personalities.
But Bionicle is not just a story of good versus evil, or of destiny versus free will. It is also a story of creation and destruction, of life and death, of order and chaos. It is a story that explores the origins and nature of the universe, the role and purpose of the gods, the meaning and value of existence. It is a story that asks questions such as: Who are we? Where do we come from? Where are we going? What do we want? What do we need? What do we owe? What do we deserve?
And how does Bionicle relate to the Übermensch? Well, let me tell you. Bionicle shows us that the Übermensch is not a single individual, but a collective project. It shows us that we need each other to achieve our full potential, to overcome our limitations, to face our challenges. It shows us that we need diversity and difference to enrich our lives, to stimulate our creativity, to broaden our perspectives. It shows us that we need conflict and struggle to grow stronger, to test ourselves, to prove ourselves. It shows us that we need change and transformation to evolve further, to adapt better, to renew ourselves.
Bionicle also shows us that the Übermensch is not a fixed state, but a dynamic process. It shows us that we are always becoming something else, something more than what we are.
