| 11 |  A very well known Barelwī Mufti was asked the following question, this is recorded in the most reliable fatwa book called ‘Anwar e Shariyat (which also include some of Ahmad Raza Khan’s Fatawa)’
The questioner asked “Prophet Esa (عليه السلام) will return again for the guidance of man while the Prophet Muhammad (صَلَي اللهُ عَلَيْه وَ سَلَّم) will not return, so who is the best of the two?
The Barelwī Mufti Nizamuddin Multani (classed as one of the Akabir of Barelwis by Abdul Hakeem Sharaf Qadri in tazkira akabir ahl e Sunnat) replied:
“Only the one who failed the first time is sent for a second chance. Only those people resit exams who fail the first time. Hadhrat Esa (عليه السلام) was unsuccessful in his first coming and he did not convey his message due to fear of the Jews, hence his return will be to make up for what he has missed.”
