30 Det er lenge siden jeg begynte å bli selektiv med hensyn til hvem jeg rådfører meg med, spesielt i viktige saker. Hvorfor?
Ord overbeviser meg ikke - handlinger gjør det. Hva noen sier og hva de gjør er to helt forskjellige ting. Jeg ser først på hva ''rådgiverne'' har selv skapt eller oppnådd; ting som er til nytte for andre, før jeg tar ordene deres til hjertet. Jeg ser på deres egen vilje til å strekke seg selv, uansett alder, til å lære nye ting og nye ferdigheter - det er for meg et autentisitets tegn.
Min liste over betrodde personer har blitt betydelig kortere de siste årene. Men heldigvis er det noen med integriteten i behold som jeg lytter til. Jeg ser på disse som de modigste og mest verdifulle menneskene i denne verden; de som ikke bøyer av for presset, trusler, bestikkelser, korrupsjon, ondskapen, perversjonen og løgnene
Jeg har også en sterk tro på at det finnes gode mennesker og gode healere både innenfor og utenfor konvensjonell medisin (skolemedisin). Det er viktig å huske at man kan ikke bruke empiriske og vitenskapelige verktøy for å helbrede alt og alle. Tvert imot... Jeg mener energien, evnen til å kommunisere og intensjonen til behandler er avgjørende.
Å vifte med sine kvalifikasjoner i hånden betyr ingenting for meg dersom vedkommende ikke kan vise til konkrete tilfeller med spesifikke bevis at de har uomtvistelig brukt sin kunnskap og evner til å hjelpe andre.
Jeg er overbevist om at et spirituellt liv med mye nærkontakt til naturen øker sjansene i alle healingprosesser. Helbredelse kommer ofte i perioder med smerter som krever personlig innsikt og vilje til egenutvikling. Spesielt langvarige emosjonelle smerter leder ofte til en bevisstgjøring og omprioritering av personlige verdier.
