Describe a person who has had a major influence on your life.
You should say:
•Who this person is
•How you met this person
•What kind of person he/she is
•And explain how this person has influenced your life.
I’d like to talk about a person who has had a profound impact on my life, and that is my uncle, Rustam. He is a senior software engineer and someone I’ve looked up to ever since I was a child.
To be honest, I can’t pinpoint the exact moment I met him because he’s been around my entire life, but my first vivid memory of him was when I was about 10 years old. He brought home a broken computer, and instead of throwing it away, he sat down with me and showed me how to fix it piece by piece. That moment completely sparked my curiosity.
Personality-wise, my uncle is incredibly driven and resilient. He is the kind of person who views every obstacle as a stepping stone rather than a roadblock. Moreover, he possesses a heart of gold and is always willing to go the extra mile to help anyone in need, whether it’s a family member or a complete stranger.
As for how he influenced me, he completely changed the trajectory of my life. Before I started spending time with him, I was quite aimless and didn't care much about my education. He taught me the value of discipline and continuous learning. He didn't just tell me to work hard; he led by example. Seeing him wake up early every single day to study new programming languages inspired me to find my own passion.
Thanks to his guidance, I developed a strong work ethic and learned not to give up when things get tough. In short, he isn’t just my uncle; he is my mentor and the main reason why I am so focused on my future goals today.
