Repost from Þórr siðr
It has come to my attention that a channel called the Sacred Stew is spreading slander about me. I will gladly swear upon the name of Þórr, that the (rather unhinged and disgusting) information espoused has no basis in reality, and I have witnesses willing to attest to this and my character. What is true though, is that I am a landowner and a working man, who seeks to worship Þórr in a traditional manner. I am happily engaged, and my tribe is made up of married men all with families. Slander is easy to do when hidden behind a screen, or when the target is far away. Furthermore, I will remind you that Waldgang is a place where men are able to settle their disputes. Think on that.

Our property is just swimming in bugs this year. Dragonflies, butterflies, weird longhorn beetles, cool moths, wild bees, hoverflies, spiders and harvestmen. Yeah theres wasps, mosquitos, gnats, and flies too, but thats life, and honestly theyre not so bad, since the predatory insects like spiders and dragonflies are so common, they keep the annoying bugs in check so its no worse off than "normal." Its amazing how a few years of tormenting the lawn grass by cutting it low and in the heat to stunt it, and not pulling "weeds" or spraying chemicals, has allowed clover, dandelions, irises, fireweed, raspberries, and any number of strange wild flora I dont recognize, to just flourish, bringing with it loads of insects, and birds. I literally never stop hearing birds. We have so many now. Its fantastic. I still mow the lawn and just leave patches of the clover and dandelions for bees n such, but letting the so called "weeds" take over has added so much more life to the yard. Literally everywhere I walk theres butterflies flitting out from my feet or spiders scuttling out of the way, the hightunnel is brimming with buzzing of bees and pollinators, it just all feels so ALIVE compared to the sterile dead lawns and neighborhoods Ive gotten used to seeing as an adult. Tons of frogs, birds, squirrels, voles, foxes and more too, and it all starts with the insects. I caught a frog in the garden the other day, it was the first one Ive actually seen. I know theyre up here, and hear them in the woods sometimes but you never see them. My wife says she hasnt seen a frog since she was a kid, this was the first one in over a decade and it was on my land. Feels like when I was a kid and I could spend hours in the morning catching weird bugs in the garden and staring at em in jars. There were so MANY back then. It feels like theyve all disappeared as of late, in most places at least. Im glad that, at least in this small patch of Earth we look after, there is still Life. It fills me with such joy, even sitting out in the sun covered in sweat being bothered by no-seeums isnt that bad. Worth the trade. "Our land must live. This land must live. Our deep, dark flame must never die…"

I live in the stars, in the sea, in the mountains and in the woods. Because that's where I keep the thoughts of my soul. I wasn't born to live in the city, I'm where my mind is, and there it is.

Two springs ago I took a maul to the giant vines suffocating this giant pine in my backyard. That summer our yard was covered in pinecones which hadn’t fallen before. This spring I had my brother come over with a chainsaw and we lopped as many more off as we could and trimmed old pappy up. At the solstice I was inspired to give him a face. I asked him to watch over us and continue to provide us with shade and pinecones my children love to play with. Get comfy with your landwights Folk.
