CHAOS: Where you dreams go to die… Back in 2014/15, I was pissing away 16 hours a week consuming a steady stream of partisan red meat. The result? I became a person consumed by anxiety and anger. My marriage was hanging by a thread. I was shooting blanks in what I call the Theater of Chaos. The Theater of Chaos is where your decision-making ammo is completely squandered on uncontrollable, uninfluencable BS. Yes, arguing with morons in the comment section is considered Chaos. Here's more: 👉 Endless election-cycle hysteria. 👉 Screaming at millionaires over meaningless pro sports games. 👉 The latest viral outrage on X or TikTok. 👉 Maintaining your fake digital kingship with your digital Lambo in your digital game world. Are you wasting the prime of your life arguing over things you have zero control over, while your own empire remains unbuilt? Is precious life, decision energy being focused on things that don't matter? The word "decision" literally stems from the Latin word meaning to cut off. Sometimes the best decisions you'll ever make aren't about new choices, but about figuring out what's guaranteed to make a miserable life, and completely deleting it. Addition by subtraction. Stop rotting away in the Theater of Chaos. Stop letting algorithmic slot machines fry your dopamine. Redirect your energy into battles that can actually be influenced, directed, and won. Read the full article from the Life in the Fastlane newsletter below. I'm thankful that this 2014 version of me is long dead, and long gone. ~ MJ

A decision I made 40 years ago still haunts me today. ☠️ When I was 16, I was overweight, invisible, and desperate for an "Easy" fix to be cool. Instead of choosing Hard (hitting the gym or learning a skill), I bought a dirt bike. Four minutes of cheap adrenaline cost me forty years of physical pain. I didn't just make a bad choice—I drew from life's Death Deck. Nobody knowingly puts the Death Deck in their hands and draws from it. But it happens every single day when we make poor decisions fueled by ease, adrenaline, and stupid dopamine rushes. Anytime your decisions BOOST the probabilities of a bad outcome, congratulations champ, you’ve grabbed the Death Deck. Speeding 95 mph in traffic? Drawing a card. Betting your life savings on some prediction market? Drawing a card. Getting married after 3 weeks of dating? Drawing a card. Drunk driving because "I'm OK" ... drawing a card. Your decisions matter, and not just on the day you make them. The magnitude of your choice defines the future you must endure. Choose wisely, or suffer lastingly. Read the full breakdown on the Death Deck and how to stop sabotaging your future here: 👇👇👇 https://news.thefastlaneforum.com/emails/194976893241394945/preview

Fact: I live easy in a large comfort zone. Fact: You’ll live hard in a small one. Gurus love telling you your comfort zone is your ultimate enemy. They say you need to "break" it or "step out" of it to find success. Bullshit. Your comfort zone isn't the enemy. Its pathetic size is. Imagine being trapped inside a tiny plastic bubble dropped smack in the middle of a 5-star beach resort. You’re nose-pressed against the fogged-up glass, drooling over the infinity pool, the Michelin-star chef, and the luxury spa. You can see paradise, but you can’t touch it. Stay "comfy" in there, and you’re nothing but a glorified peeping tom in a cage. You don't need to break the bubble. You need to stretch it. Every time you endure a temporary burst of discomfort—a scary pitch, hitting the gym, learning a new skill—that bubble expands. Suddenly, you're swimming in the infinity pool sipping a margarita. You stretch your baseline until a weekly massage isn't a billionaire's fantasy; it's just your Tuesday. The math is un-Reddit-friendly: 👉 Small comfort zone = Small life. 👉 Large comfort zone = Large life. Stop living in the hotel janitor's closet dreaming of the penthouse. Read the full article here including the visual you'll need to download and post at your workspace: 👇👇👇 https://www.thefastlaneforum.com/community/threads/the-myth-of-the-comfort-zone-that-just-wont-die.124338/ I live Easy because I Chose Hard, and now my comfort zone has enveloped every luxury I could imagine. ~ MJ

I spent four years writing Choose Hard, Live Easy, packing it with over 70+ mental models. And throughout the entire process, one ominous warning from Aldous Huxley echoed in my head: "There will be, in the next generation or so, a pharmacological method of making people love their servitude... producing a kind of painless concentration camp for entire societies, so that people will in fact have their liberties taken away from them, but will rather enjoy it." Huxley was right. We are living in a society violently addicted to the scripted illusions of comfort—most of which are perfectly legal. The "pharmacological method" Huxley warned us about? How exactly do you RSVP to this concentration camp of the living dead? It happens when you Choose Easy. And Hard is the antidote. It is one of the mental models that acts as your permanent exit visa from the camp. The following 26 mental models are maxims you can carry with you for life. They are foundational pieces of wisdom you can use to make choosing hard, easier. ⚡️💡26 Mental Models – Maxims of Wisdom ⚡️💡 1. THE MAXIM OF FREE If the service is free, you are the product. You are paying with your attention, your data, and ultimately, your behavior. 2. THE MAXIM OF OUTRAGE Outrage is a profitable industry. The news media doesn’t sell information; they sell your emotional reactions to advertisers. Tuning into the news is like strapping on an IV of anger- and anxiety-spiking cortisol. And I'll skip to my favorite... 25. THE MAXIM OF COMMAND You are the CEO of your life. Act like it, and you'll get paid like it. Act like the janitor, and you'll get paid like the janitor. You choose how to command your life. 👇 Read the other 23 here (free to read, no account required) https://www.thefastlaneforum.com/community/threads/26-mental-models-simple-maxims-of-wisdom-for-an-unscripted-life.124129/ What personal maxims have served your life righteously? 9+ Asymmetric Decisions You'd be a Fool Not to Make! 📉📈 You never know which casual choice is the one where you're unknowingly betting your entire life savings to win a penny. Most people are getting absolutely ruined by downside asymmetry—betting massive amounts of their time, health, and money for a cheap hit of dopamine or a tiny reward. NO ONE wakes up and consciously decides to have ten bucks in their bank account while being depressed and out of shape. Their decisions do it for them. If you want to win, you need to ruthlessly exploit upside asymmetry: small risks that yield massive, life-altering rewards. Or, they simply prevent destruction. These 9 decisions could be a 20% HARD effort, that yields 80% EASY results. I just broke down the exact 9 decisions that separate the empire-builders from the people complaining on Reddit. Here's some clues: ✅ Why the Slowlane is mathematically a tricycle. ✅ The great tech paradox, why THIS simple device is making you stupid. ✅ Why waiting to do THIS is the ultimate life hack. ✅ How not to throw away the billion dollar cure to cancer... Stop playing a loser's game. Watch the full breakdown here: 👇👇👇 https://youtu.be/QJK_EB5SuyU By the end of your life, you will have made over 3,000,000 choices. Choose harder to live easier. Easy.

Most people manage their money with forensic obsession. They comparison-shop for a dollar off gas, agonize over a $12 streaming subscription, and can tell you within a few bucks what's sitting in their checking account. Yet, those same people will gamble away something infinitely more scarce, and do so without blinking. 📉 In my latest video, I offer you a coin flip that could potentially save your life from an encounter with a murderer and a rapist (you'll have to watch the video to find out), but here are the two risk profiles for winning or losing your coin flip... 👉 Option A: Risk $1 to win $43,200 ... 👉 Option B: Risk $43,200 to win $1? The answer feels obvious when the currency is money. 💰💰 But the entire point — the reality check hiding inside the question — is that you're already choosing Option B, betting staggering amounts of currency for little return... every single day. You're not doing it with cash— you're doing it with time. ⏰ The gym story I showcase is the kind that permanently rewires your mental circuitry. Here's the short version: A guy skips a 10-second detour to grab a sanitation wipe. He saves one moment and grabs some sweaty, virus-infected handles. He loses five days to illness — 43,200 moments — along with workouts, income, PTO, and a weekend with his kids that never gets rescheduled. The math is horrifying: a 4.3 million % NEGATIVE RETURN on a single, invisible decision. One question and one word will help you make some great bets, while avoiding the bad ones: The question is disarmingly simple: IS THIS DECISION ASYMMETRICAL? Asymmetry plays the starring role in my newest book, Choose Hard, Live Easy, while it had supporting roles in my prior books. Asymmetry -- the upside and downside variety-- is the four-syllable word that has built every empire and dug every grave worth examining. But this question does more than expose the obvious landmines like speed-racing your motorcycle at 90 while tailgating, but the sneaky asymmetry, the kind that compounds: The 3 donuts for breakfast. The one-hour lunch spent rotting your brain on TikTok. 💡The 99% track dollars: They know betting $50K to win a buck is stupid. ⚡️The 1% track moments: We know betting 50,000 moments to win 1 is stupid. You can rebuild a bank account. You cannot rebuild a decade spent in the wrong city, the wrong body, or the wrong life. Watch the full breakdown below. 👉 Your first asymmetric decision is here... The next 17 minutes you spend watching this video might save you 17 days, 17 weeks, 17 months, or 17 years. In other words, you'll be betting 17 to win thousands, perhaps, millions. Make the good bet, or ignore it like the 99%. https://youtu.be/nf7gzR7XY6A

A lot of you asked me over the years to return to YouTube and I have. This is my first video in 4 years. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hQTAVn99oYE I plan to do a few videos per month in the realms of Fastlane business, decision-making, and entrepreneurship. Maybe even a few AI takes. Please subscribe if you want to level-up your life and learn from someone who is truly living in the top 10% of the 1% life. My social media absense was a personal decision that helped me level up in all aspects of life. I still plan to avoid a lot of social media, but I realize YouTube is venue I shouldn't be ignoring — it was the one social media channel I visited often to learn things, hence, testing my Standing Order. IMO, YouTube is a great asset, or it could be great hindrance, or as I say in the video, a hammer to your brain. Enjoy! MJ

Let's be clear. I'm completely BULLISH on AI as the largest wealth window ever created in human history. But I'm completely BEARISH on humans' ability to use it wisely with the appropriate guardrails.

One chart explains how you create wealth fast. 📈💸 Look at this graphic. This is the Wealth Window. It’s a predictable, repeating cycle where early adoption meets massive opportunity. Every few years, the window cracks open, a new batch of millionaires sprints through, and then the latch clicks shut. Choose Hard is a big cheat code, but only if you recognize, exploit, and direct it into a Wealth Window. Deployed in the wrong system? It is just inefficient. As I like to say, you could run faster than Usain Bolt if you put him on a tricycle. The tricycle—the system—is the negative leverage that hinders his output. Wealth operates under the same construct. Yes, leverage Hard, but leverage it in the right system. No amount of “Hard” will help you win a race saddled to a tricycle, while everyone is driving automobiles. Wealth isn’t just about the Hard, but about taking advantage of Wealth Windows: Opportunities in **timing** and **temporary asymmetric leverage** that occur every few years or decades. Right now, AI is that window. It’s bigger than the internet. It’s bigger than the steam engine and electricity. And no, you don't need to start an "AI company." You just need to stop using a mule/plow while your competition is using a tractor. Read the full breakdown and see why the "experts" calling this HYPE are the same ones who said the car was a "novelty" in 1903: 👇👇👇👇👇👇👇 https://www.thefastlaneforum.com/community/threads/wealth-windows-one-chart-shows-you-how-to-get-rich.123380/

The ultimate cure for low self-esteem and depression... Learn something new. Figure out a problem. Choose Hard. And then when you're on top of the mountain of the problem you just solved, OBSERVE how you feel. Feel that rush? That high? That's achievement. Confidence. The feeling that you can DO ANYTHING with the right process and effort. As I wrote in Choose Hard, Live Easy - I've been learning jump rope and various skills related to such. There's few things more intoxicating than realizing you couldn't do X yesterday, but you can do X today. In video game terms, here's what you're doing to your IRL game character... Self-esteem: +1. Experience +1. Endurance +1 (In the jump rope case) Wisdom +1. Intelligence +1 Anti-Quit Modality +1 There is no better level-up in life. Continue learning, continue leveling up. Continue building a mental framework that you can DO ANYTHING. One year ago, I couldn't do a simple basic forward jump rope. But I Chose Hard. And now a 56 year old gray-haired semi-old man is practically hip-hopping through a jump rope.

{{{ THIS }}} is the easiest decision any human can make… and it will also be your best… Even better, you can do it sitting on your couch. But to obtain life’s ultimate status symbol, you’ll need to get off that couch. 👇👇👇 https://news.thefastlaneforum.com/preview/364132/emails/185473847712023827

HOW TO PREDICT YOUR SUCCESS (OR FAILURE)... 🧙‍♂️ The following is a direct excerpt from my new book, Choose Hard, Live Easy - The Art of War for Decision-Making For the last 17 years, I’ve led a community of aspiring entrepreneurs and business owners. Millions (yes, millions) of people have visited, posted, and contributed, hoping to start a business that creates generational wealth. During that time, I’ve become a Nostradamus at predicting failure. Whenever a new user posts, I can tell immediately whether they have what it takes to succeed in business. No, I don’t have a magic jar of tea leaves; I can smell the parasite of Expectosis as if I were a bloodhound. I see dead people? No, I see entrepreneurs who will never survive. How do I do it? And how can you leverage the same knowledge to predict your own success or failure? Read on... 👇👇👇👇 https://news.thefastlaneforum.com/preview/364132/emails/184832189915989692

The spoils of Hard, is Easy.
The spoils of Hard, is Easy.

How much is 10 years of quality life worth to you? 🏝🏰🏖 No, I'm not talking about staring at a wall while using a walker to get to the bathroom. When it comes to lifespan, the most important currency isn't money... it's something everyone has, but mostly neglects. What is it? The Art of Choosing Hard. Case in point: I just hit a major goal this week: getting my “Whoop Age” 10 years younger than my actual age. It's a seminal example of the Hard/Easy Paradox, specifically, The Rule of Persistence as highlighted in my new book, Choose Hard, Live Easy - The Art of War for Decision-Making. ---- THE RULE OF PERSISTENCE --- Whatever you repeatedly choose in the short term, its Polarity will persist and endure in the long term. 👉 Choose Easy? You not only GET Hard, you LIVE Hard. 👉 Choose Hard? You not only GET Easy, you LIVE Easy. Back to my biometric achievement of being 10 years younger... the thing is, I don’t feel 56 (real age) or 47 (biometric age)... I feel more like 35. The point is, this state of EASE persists! I live it every moment of the day; it has become my DEFAULT STATE OF BEING. And yet, what is the price of this ease? What is the cost of enjoying this level of health and fitness? I Choose Hard. And those "discomforts" of Hard are short-term and transient. Fleeting ghosts. 1) I choose Hard: I banish screens from my bed. 2) I choose Hard: I’m in bed and ready for sleep by 10:30 PM. 3) I choose Hard: I do not eat three hours before bedtime. 4) I choose Hard: I regularly exercise, lift weights, jump rope, and stretch. 5) I choose Hard: I eat a mostly plant-based diet and avoid processed junk and fast food. 6) I choose Hard: I don't drink alcohol. Each "HARD" I choose is a temporary sacrifice-- a fleeting discomfort that doesn't last. The result? I get EASE as a permanent state of being. The question is... how much MONEY would you pay for an extra 10 QUALITY YEARS of life? I mean 10 years of whatever stirs your soul: Travel, pickleball, skiing, time with the grandkids... $500K? $5 million? $10 million? Whatever the number, THAT PRICE CANNOT BE PAID WITH MONEY, IT MUST BE PAID WITH HARD. Of course, none of this might matter. I could get hit by a bus tomorrow or struck down by some random disease. 😮😰 But the point is twofold: 1) I’m putting the probability and the odds in MY FAVOR. 2) I’m making the hard choices and accepting temporary sacrifices so I can endure EASE every minute of the day. That Ease is not felt for a weekend or a few days a month—it's felt EVERY. DAMN. MOMENT. Eventually, that “future self” will become your “present self” and that person will either suffer or savor. My present self THANKS my past self for its hard choices. Of course, this goes beyond health; it applies to every facet of your existence. Your career. Your finances. Your relationships. What Hard investment are you refusing to make right now? By dodging the cost today, you are forcing “future you” to pay the bill for your current negligence. Choose Hard so you may Live Easy. But of course, it's your choice, your move, and your life. https://news.thefastlaneforum.com/emails/webview/364132/184584006414632332

Will you die at 78 because society told you to? 💀⚓ My wife and I were deep into a thought experiment the other night. She’s turning 50; I’m 57. Society says we should be winding down, hitting the meds, and eyeing the nearest recliner. I say that’s total BS. My genetic blueprint is a house of horrors; cancer, dementia, you name it. But my biggest threat isn’t my DNA. It’s Normative Anchoring. A normative anchor is the invisible speed governor embedded in your brain. It tells you that 78 is the finish line, so you start "declining" at 60. It’s a psychological splinter that limits your potential. The body does what the mind believes. I’m training for a life to 100, not a 20-year crawl to the grave. I’ve refused the normative anchor. I’ve dismissed it as much as I dismissed “get a job and save for 50 years” orthodody. Question is, what normative anchors are keeping you… well… normal? 👇👇👇 https://news.thefastlaneforum.com/preview/364132/emails/184220386763736776 Better decisions = Better life. Choose Hard, Live Easy — Master the Art of War for Decision-Making Now Available in eBook, paperback, hardback, and audiobook (Audible.)

Over 2,000 people took the DEFCON test. The results? It doesn’t look very good. In war terms, a bloodbath. 📉 The most heartbreaking stat? Nearly half (46%) admitted that your 10-year-old self would be disappointed in the life you’ve accepted. That wide-eyed kid who believed in greatness (astronaut, athlete, billionaire, scientist, firefighter) has been replaced by a jaded adult who has settled for a mundane existence pacified by "Easy" choices. Read the full DEFCON diagnostic breakdown here: 👇👇👇 https://news.thefastlaneforum.com/preview/364132/emails/183378792449836827 PS: My new book Choose Hard, Live Easy should now be available in all formats, including audiobook via Audible. Whatever audiobook issues happened seem to be resolved. https://mybook.to/choose-hard-live-easy Live your best life. Protect against your worst. Memorable, actionable tactics to recall and execute in the crossfire of the moment. 344 pages. 13 hours. And like my other three books, it took me 4 long years to write, LOL. The book also has a 162-page companion workbook available for sale at Amazon or Viperion. Enjoy! - MJ 🏖🏝

It's here! (Finally!) Breaking News: If you suck at making decisions, your life will suck too. The world doesn’t give you what you want. You must choose it into reality. The world doesn’t care about your vision board, your pronouns, your deadbeat dad, or your PhD in Philosophy. It cares about one thing: The decisions you make every moment of the day, from what you eat for breakfast to how you spend your free time. 🔥 Choose Hard, Live Easy - The Art of War for Decision-Making... 🔥 Life’s Decision Instruction Manual You Were Never Given What makes Choose Hard, Live Easy different from any decision book? I strip away the syrupy delusions of modern self-help to reveal the raw mechanics of how an amazing life is actually engineered. I always felt that most decision-making books are like bringing chopsticks to a gunfight. They get lost in academic minutiae so dense it could bore you to tears, or they list a bunch of worthless mental models you'll forget the second life punches you with a layoff or a cheating lover. ❌ I don’t recite another list of cognitive biases that has been discussed 10,000 times. ❌ I don’t give you another tired retelling of the Marshmallow Experiment. ❌ I don’t tell you about Pomodoro time blocking or pros/cons… the stale chaff of decision. I do give you something you can remember and execute for the rest of your life. ⚔️ Bare minimum: Choose Hard will protect your “worst life” from happening. ⚔️ Best case: Choose Hard will give you the memorable frameworks for winning your best life. Today is release date and the book should now be available on your country's respective Amazon. The book is 344 pages. Audiobook 13 hours+. https://mybook.to/choose-hard-live-easy Unfortunately, the completed audiobook has not yet been approved because Audible has not released it. That could be any day this week, so check back often! There is also a companion workbook as well. https://mybook.to/chle-workbook Enjoy, choose hard, and live the spoils of an easy life. Best wishes, MJ PS: Over the coming months, I will be deep diving a lot of concepts in the book, concepts that have saved me from destruction, and earned me royalty!

Your life is nothing more than the sum of your decisions. 🏗️ ⚖️ If your results suck, your decisions suck. Simple. But how deep does the rot go? Is it just a minor leak in the roof, or is your entire foundation about to collapse under the weight of your Easy choices? I’ve put together a diagnostic test to help you audit your current state: The DEFCON Test. It measures your Decisional Fallout Condition. It’s measures that state of your current decision affairs, the difference between building a legacy with no regrets, and just digging a deeper hole that you must endure. They say that Everything happens for a reason. LOL. I say no it doesn’t —I say it’s more likely you make shitty decisions. 💥 Future You must endure the sins of Present You. 💥 Incidentally, this is WHY your choice of AI is important. I fed this test to 4 AI systems and asked for the average score based on available data, statistics and surveys. -- ChatGPT: 60 -- Grok: 52 -- Claude: 24 -- Gemini: 16 Of course, most people lie on this test and will score in the 70s and 80s, and is not evidence by reality. Lying is EASY. Being honest? HARD. It's the first test in the Shadow War. What is your current DEFCON level? Find out here: 👇👇👇 https://choosehardliveeasy.com/defcon
