*Ihyaaud-Deen WhatsApp Broadcast* *An Advice of Hazrat Abdullah bin Abbaas (radhiyallahu ‘anhuma)* Wahab bin Munabbih (rahimahullah) says: After Hazrat Abdullah bin Abbaas (radhiyallahu ‘anhuma) became blind (in his old age), I once led him to the Haram Shareef in Makkah Mukarramah, where he heard a group of people arguing among themselves. He asked me to lead him to them. On coming to them, he greeted them with “Assalaamu Alaikum”. They requested him to sit down, but he refused and said, “May I tell you about the people who hold a high position in the sight of Allah Ta‘ala? They are those whom Allah’s fear has caused to remain silent, even though they are neither helpless nor dumb. In fact, they are able to speak very well and have a good understanding. However, the zikr of Allah Ta‘ala has over-powered them on account of which they do not speak much. When they are overcome by the deep remembrance of Allah Ta‘ala, then they hasten towards good deeds. Why have you turned away from the path of these people?” Hazrat Wahab bin Munabbih (rahimahullah) says, “After this admonition, I never even saw a group of two people sitting together in the Haram Shareef (and engaging in worldly conversation).” It is said that Hazrat Ibnu Abbaas (radhiyallahu ‘anhuma) used to weep so much with Allah Ta‘ala’s fear that the tears flowing down his cheeks had left marks on them. Hazrat Shaikh Moulana Muhammad Zakariyya (rahimahullah) mentioned regarding the above incident: In this incident, Hazrat Abdullah bin Abbaas (radhiyallahu ‘anhuma) has shown a very easy way to do good deeds. This is to ponder and think about the greatness of Allah Ta‘ala. If this is done, it becomes very easy to do all other good actions with sincerity. *Ihyaaud-Deen WhatsApp Broadcast* *The Angel that Stands at the Blessed Grave of Hazrat Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) to Convey the Durood of the Ummah* عن عمار بن ياسر رضي الله عنه قال : قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم : إن لله ملكا أعطاه أسماع الخلائق، فهو قائم على قبري إذا مت، فليس أحد يصلي علي صلاة إلا قال : يا محمد صلى عليك فلان ابن فلان، قال : فيصلي الرب تبارك وتعالى على ذلك الرجل بكل واحدة عشرا (رواه الطبراني، ونعيم بن ضمضم ضعيف وابن الحميري اسمه عمران قال البخاري: لا يتابع على حديثه وقال صاحب الميزان: لا يعرف، وبقية رجاله رجال الصحيح كذا في مجمع الزوائد، الرقم: 17292) _Hazrat Ammaar bin Yaasir (radhiyallahu ‘anhu) reports that Hazrat Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) said, “Indeed, Allah Ta‘ala has appointed an angel whom He has given the ability to hear the voices of the entire creation. This angel will remain standing at my blessed grave from the time I pass away. There is no person who will recite Durood upon me once except that this angel will say, “O Muhammad (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam)! So-and-so, the son of so-and-so, has recited Durood upon you.” Allah Ta‘ala will then shower ten mercies upon that person in exchange of every Durood that he will recite upon me.”_ *The Scribe of Durood* Hazrat Shaikhul Hadith, Moulana Muhammad Zakariyya (rahimahullah) mentioned: A reliable friend of mine informed me regarding a scribe of Lucknow. He would commence his daily work after writing durood on a sheet of paper which he had reserved for this very purpose. At the time of his death, he was overcome with fear of the Hereafter saying, “What will become of me after I depart this world?” On saying this, a majzoob (saint constantly engaged in the remembrance of Allah Ta‘ala) appeared and said, “Why are you so worried? When travelling in a group, appoint one person as the ameer. عن أبي سعيد الخدري أن رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم قال: إذا خرج ثلاثة في سفر فليؤمروا أحدهم (سنن أبي داود، الرقم: ٢٦١٠، وسكت عنه هو والمنذري) _Hazrat Abu Sa’eed Khudri (radhiyallahu ‘anhu) reports that Hazrat Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) said, “When three people come out on a journey, then they should appoint one of them as the ameer of the journey.”_ 2. While traveling, if the group stops at a certain place for a short while (e.g. a petrol station) and you have to go for some need or to relieve yourself, then inform your companions before you leave. 3. Do not discuss controversial topics or enter into arguments, etc. with your companions during the journey. 4. During the journey, if any unpleasant or unforeseen circumstance arises, then exercise patience. Do not lose your temper nor be rude and impolite, thereby causing pain and inconvenience to others. 5. Adopt a gentle approach when dealing with your companions and engage in light-hearted discussions while on the journey. Do not adopt a serious approach. 6. Do not undertake a journey unnecessarily. If you have a need, then undertake the journey, and upon completing your need, hasten to return home. عن أبي هريرة رضي الله عنه عن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم قال: السفر قطعة من العذاب يمنع أحدكم طعامه وشرابه ونومه فإذا قضى نهمته فليعجل إلى أهله (صحيح البخاري، الرقم: ١٨٠٤) _Hazrat Abu Hurairah (radhiyallahu ‘anhu) reports that Hazrat Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) said, “Travelling is like a portion of Jahannum which prevents one from his food, drink and sleep (i.e. travelling presents difficulty, just as one experiences difficulty in Jahannum). *Ihyaaud-Deen WhatsApp Broadcast* *Hazrat Abdullah bin Abbaas (radiyallahu ‘anhuma) Seeing Hazrat Jibreel (‘alaihis salaam)* Hazrat Abdullah bin Abbaas (radiyallahu ‘anhuma) mentions that once, he was with his father by Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wasallam) while Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) was discussing something in private with someone. Since Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wasallam) was attending to that person, his back was turned towards Hazrat Abbaas (radhiyallahu ‘anhuma) and his son, Hazrat Abdullah bin Abbaas (radhiyallahu ‘anhuma), and perhaps Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) was not aware that they had come to meet him. Hazrat Abbaas (radhiyallahu ‘anhu) left the presence of Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) with his son and did not have the opportunity to speak to Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam). After leaving, Hazrat Abbaas (radhiyallahu ‘anhu) said to his son, Hazrat Abdullah, “O my son! Didn’t you see how your cousin (referring to Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam)) turned away from me (i.e. perhaps he did not want to speak to me)?” Hazrat Abdullah (radhiyallahu ‘anhu) said to his father, “O my father! There was a person present with Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) who was speaking something privately to him (that is why Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) had turned his back towards you).” Hazrat Abdullah (radhiyallahu ‘anhu) mentioned: “We then returned to Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wasallam), and when my father met Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam), he said to him “O Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wasallam)! I said such-and-such to Abdullah (i.e. I told him that you turned away from me), and he informed me that (the reason for you turning away from me was that) there was a person speaking to you in private (however, I could not see the person). Is it true that you were discussing something privately with someone?” Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wasallam) asked Hazrat Abdullah (radhiyallahu ‘anhu), “O Abdullah! Did you really see him (i.e. the person whom I was speaking to)?” Hazrat Abdullah (radhiyallahu ‘anhu) replied, “Yes (I did see him).” Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wasallam) said, “That person (whom you saw) was Jibreel (‘alayhis salaam). As for the group of people who greeted you with salaam, and you replied to their salaam, then they were Nabi Ebrahim (‘alaihis salaam), Nabi Musa (‘alaihis salaam) and Nabi Isa (‘alaihis salaam).” _(Tafseer Ibnu Katheer 3/6, Fat-hul Baari 7/229 & Sharhuz Zurqaani 8/84-85)_ *Passing by the Grave of Nabi Musa (‘alaihis salaam)* Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) said, “On the night of Israa, I passed Musa (‘alaihis salaam) by the heap of red sand while he was standing and performing salaah in his grave.” (Saheeh Muslim #2375) *The Ifreet Jinn Chasing After Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam)* It is reported in Muwatta of Imaam Maalik (rahimahullah) that during the Israa, an Ifreet Jinn followed Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) with a flame of fire, trying to harm him. Whenever Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) would turn around, he would see this jinn following him. Hazrat Jibreel (‘alaihis salaam) said to him, “Shall I not teach you some words of dua which are such that if you recite them, his flame will be extinguished and he will fall on his face?” Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) said, “Yes, teach it to me.” Hazrat Jibreel (‘alaihis salaam) then taught Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) the following dua: أَعُوْذُ بِوَجْهِ اللهِ الْكَرِيْم وَبِكَلِمَاتِ اللهِ التَّامَّاتِ الَّتِيْ لَا يُجَاوِزُهُنَّ بَرٌّ وَلَا فَاجِرٌ مِنْ شَرِّ مَا يَنْزِلُ مِنَ السَّمَاءِ وَشَرِّ مَا يَعْرُجُ فِيْهَا وَشَرِّ مَا ذَرَأَ فِي الْأَرْضِ وَشَرِّ مَا يَخْرُجُ مِنْهَا وَمِنْ فِتَنِ اللَّيْلِ وَالنَّهَارِ وَمِنْ طَوَارِقِ اللَّيْلِ إِلَّا طَارِقًا يَطْرُقُ بِخَيْرٍ يَا رَحْمٰنُ _I seek protection through the Most Noble Countenance of Allah, and through the complete words of Allah, which neither a pious person nor a sinner can surpass; from the evil of that which descends from the sky and the evil of that which ascends in it, and from the evil of that which He created in the earth and the evil of that which comes out of it, and from the evil of the trials of the night and the day, and from the evil of those creations that come out during the night, except for those that come with good, O the Most Merciful._ _(Muwatta Maalik #3500)_ *Revive by practising and sharing* Click on the following link to join our WhatsApp community group: https://chat.whatsapp.com/DBFUEhHg4wfIYqtHzYhqJ7 *Telegram Channel:* https://t.me/ihyaauddeen

*Ihyaaud-Deen WhatsApp Broadcast* *The Seerah of Rasullullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) – Part Fifty Six* *The Journey to Baytul Muqaddas* Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) departed from Makkah Mukarramah, mounted on the buraaq, accompanied by Hazrat Jibreel (‘alaihis salaam) and Hazrat Meekaa’eel (‘alaihis salaam). During the journey, Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) stopped at certain places to perform salaah while on the way to Baytul Muqaddas. In the narration of Hazrat Shaddaad bin Aws (radhiyallahu ‘anhu), Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) said: While traveling (on the buraaq from Makkah Mukarramah), we passed by a land which contained many date palms. As we came to this land, Hazrat Jibreel (‘alaihis salaam) said to me, “Dismount from the buraaq and perform some nafl salaah here.” I thus dismounted and performed some nafl salaah. Hazrat Jibreel (‘alaihis salaam) then asked me, “Do you know which land this is wherein you have performed salaah?” I replied, “No, I do not know.” Hazrat Jibreel (‘alaihis salaam) said, “You performed salaah in Yathrib (i.e. Madinah Munawwarah), and this is the land to which you will perform hijrah.” We then continued the journey, and on coming to a certain land, Hazrat Jibreel (‘alaihis salaam) again told me to dismount and perform nafl salaah in that place. After I dismounted and performed some nafl salaah, Hazrat Jibreel (‘alaihis salaam) said to me, “You have performed salaah in the valley of Seenaa, close to the tree of Nabi Musa (‘alaihis salaam), the place where Allah Ta‘ala conversed with him.” We then continued on the journey, and on coming to a certain land, Hazrat Jibreel (‘alaihis salaam) again told me to dismount and perform some salaah. I thus dismounted and performed some nafl salaah, after which Hazrat Jibreel (‘alaihis salaam) said, “You have performed salaah in Madyan (the land in which Nabi Shu’aib (‘alaihis salaam) resided).” We then departed from there and continued the journey, until we came to a certain place where Hazrat Jibreel (‘alaihis salaam) told me to dismount and perform some nafl salaah. After I had dismounted and performed some nafl salaah, Hazrat Jibreel (‘alaihis salaam) said to me, “This place is Bayt-ul-Lahm (Bethlehem), the place where Nabi Isa (‘alaihis salaam) was born.” _(Musnadul Bazzaar #3484, Sunan Nasaai #450, Tafseer Ibnu Katheer 3/15, Fat-hul Baari 7/229 & Sharhuz Zurqaani 8/83)_ *Various People Calling Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) on the Way* While Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) was traveling on the buraaq, he passed by an old woman. The old woman called out to him, but Hazrat Jibreel (‘alaihis salaam) said to him, “Continue traveling, and do not any pay attention to her.” As they continued, they passed by an old man, and he also called out to Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam). However, Hazrat Jibreel (‘alaihis salaam) again said to him, “Continue traveling, and do not any pay attention to him.” As they proceeded, they next passed by a group of people who greeted Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) in the following words: السلام عليك يا أول السلام عليك يا آخر السلام عليك يا حاشر _Peace be upon you, O the one who was first (decreed as the prophet of Allah Ta‘ala)! Peace be upon you, O the one who is last (to be sent to this world from all the Ambiyaa [‘alaihimus salaam])! Peace be upon you, O the one who will be resurrected first!_ On passing by this group, Hazrat Jibreel (‘alaihis salaam) told Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) to reply to their salaam. Hazrat Jibreel (‘alaihis salaam) thereafter explained the various scenes they had passed saying, “The old woman you saw standing on the side of the road was actually the dunya (the world). The time for which this world will remain is now very little, equivalent to the period that remains from this old woman’s life. The old man you saw was actually shaitaan. Both the dunya and shaitaan had called out to you, hoping to attract your attention.

I then make dua for you and ask Allah Ta'ala to forgive your sins.”_ *Writing (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) When Copying Down Ahaadith* Hazrat Abul Hasan Maimooni (rahimahullah) says: I once saw my ustaaz, Abu Ali (rahimahullah), in a dream. I noticed that something was written on his fingers in gold or saffron. *Ihyaaud-Deen WhatsApp Broadcast* *The Great Knowledge of Hazrat Abdullah bin Abbaas (radhiyallahu ‘anhuma)* Hazrat Abdullah bin Abbaas (radhiyallahu ‘anhuma) says: After the demise of Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam), I said to one of my Ansaari friends, “Come, let us go and learn (the knowledge of Deen) from the Sahaabah (radiyallahu ‘anhum), while many of them are still present among us.” He said to me, “O Ibnu Abbaas! By the qasm of Allah, I am surprised that you think people will need to refer to you (in deeni matters) whereas these great Sahaabah are present among us!” Despite the statement of his friend, Hazrat Abdullah bin Abbaas (radiyallahu ‘anhuma) was not in any way discouraged from his pursuit of ilm. He says: Rather, I continued my quest for knowledge and began approaching every Sahaabi (who had heard Ahaadith from Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam)). In this way, Hazrat Abdullah bin Abbaas (radiyallahu ‘anhuma) managed to gather a substantial amount of ilm from the Sahaabah (radiyallahu ‘anhum). He further says: On my visit to any Sahaabi (radhiyallahu ‘anhu), if I found him resting, I would spread my shawl at the entrance of his home and remained seated there, waiting for him to come out of his house. At times, my face and entire body would get covered with dust while waiting outside his home. However, this did not dissuade Hazrat Ibnu Abbaas from his endeavour of seeking knowledge and he continued to remain seated there, anxiously awaiting the Sahaabi’s emergence. He mentions: When the Sahaabi would come out from his home after resting and he would see me, he would say, “O cousin of Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam)! Why did you come to me? You should have sent a message calling me, then I would have come to you!” Hearing this, I would respond, “No! It is more right for me to come to you (as I am the student and you are the ustaad)!” Hazrat Abdullah bin Abbaas (radiyallahu ‘anhuma) thus continued his pursuits until there came a time when people began to flock to him for learning the knowledge of deen.
