Then join us at ITMO.GO on the last day of summer '22 to officially become a part of our ITMO.Family and have the time of your life! 🎯For those who see the goal (aka a career in science) and see no obstacles, here are some handy-dandy tips to help you kickstart your academic career at ITMO! 1️⃣Research projects for Master’s and PhD students. Students involved in research are employed and work according to the working hours of their faculty, receiving a monthly salary. Thus, they can not only contribute to the faculty’s research projects, publish their first articles, and present their results at conferences, but also gain hands-on experience in their field. This is a great chance for students to take their first steps on the career ladder and receive up to 30,000-80,000 rubles on top of their monthly stipend. A total of 46 projects were launched during the 2020-2021 academic year within all the fields pursued at the university. 2️⃣Practice-oriented, research, experimental, design, and technological projects. Every April, ITMO holds a competition for R&D projects among students. Winners receive financial support from the university in the amount of up to 2.5 million rubles per year. By the end of the competition, the selected teams must present a full-fledged prototype and technical documentation elaborating on their project’s prospects and commercialization plans, with (or without) the support from the university. The project should be headed by a student and performed by a team consisting of their fellow students and a research adviser. Thus, students can enhance their development and teamwork skills. This is an excellent opportunity to prepare yourself for more large-scale projects and what’s more – try your hand at leading one.
