BURDUR The Antoninus Fountain was built between 161 - 180 AD during the time of the Roman Emperor Marcus Aurelius. It is a monumental structure, 28 meters wide and 9 meters high. Stones of seven different colors and characteristics were used in the construction of the Chesme, and it was covered with Athenian marble. Numerous statues adorn the work, two of which belong to Dionysus, the god of wine and theater. Since 2010 the water flows in the waterfall fountain, which has undergone a thorough restoration. You can see the original sculptures of the work in the Burdur Museum.
