FEAST OF SAINT COSMAS Today, we celebrated the patronal Feast of our parish of Saint Cosmas in Maryland. The hierarchical Divine Liturgy was served by Metropolitan Gregory of Boston with the assistance of Presbyter Mark Beesley, Presbyter Stephen Johnson and Presbyter Petros Ramos. As is customary, the faithful from Pennsylvania and Virginia, as well as the sisters from Saint Mary Magdalene Convent made the effort to be present for the celebration. During the Divine Liturgy, two new Taper-bearers were blessed for the service in the Altar. After the divine service, a festive trapeza was shared followed by the traditional Q&A session with Metropolitan Gregory. God grant many years of joyful celebrations to Father Stephen and the faithful of Saint Cosmas parish. Amen.

Founding of a New Parish Last Sunday, our faithful Christians in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, convened to formally establish and incorporate the Parish of the Holy Great Martyr George. Prior to this meeting, the parish had operated as an informal Mission within a private house chapel. During this inaugural meeting, the parish defined the following objectives: - To continue conducting Reader’s Services on Sundays; - To invite a Priest six to eight times annually and to continue attending Pascha and Nativity services at Saint John of San Francisco Parish in Chicago; - To establish a social media committee and develop a website and an Instagram page to enhance visibility; - To investigate platforms such as GoFundMe to potentially facilitate donations; - To form a property search committee to identify a prospective building within city limits; - To create a committee dedicated to researching various fundraising methods; - To vote on the bylaws following consultation with legal counsel; - To elect the corporation officers. The parish raised more than $1,000 at its initial fundraising event. Over the summer, approximately $3,000 was accumulated in the parish account. This represents a modest but encouraging beginning. The current fundraising goal is set between $125,000 and $150,000. Through patience, diligence, and common effort across our Church, God will provide sufficient funds to eventually secure an appropriate property for the church. Let us keep the new community in our prayers and, if God has blessed with abundance, let us contribute to this worthy cause. May Saint George protect and guide them through his powerful intercessions to our Saviour. Amen 🀩
