Haiku Lesson Notes September 10, 2026 1. Rabash. Article 20, 1990. What is "half a shekel" in the work– 2 (Recorded lesson, May 21, 2002) 2. TES (Recorded lesson, Nov. 15, 2007) During action, the body Chooses its own benefit, Not the benefit of the Creator. To the extent that faith shines, The body is willing to trade A small pleasure for a great one. If you wish to work for the Creator, You feel exiled due to the authority Of the desire to receive for yourself. There is no hope of exiting exile Without the Upper mercy — Only the Creator can deliver you. There is no light without a kli, Just as there is no fulfillment Without a hisaron. Prayer creates half the kli. The Creator provides the other half— The kli becomes complete. To the Creator, The small and the great Are equal. Prayer is the work in the heart, Not what is on your lips: Its magnitude is in the hisaron. Don't think how strong or weak Your are: exert efforts That you are capable of. We always have prayer, And there is always a correction In response to the heart's desire. Not feeling a deep desire, We can't connect what is in the heart With the Creator's response. An external desire may ask For spiritual things, while The heart wants something else. Even if the external prayer is false, It holds my free will. Hence, Above, it is regarded as my desire. Intermediate prayer is The realization of evil: I see My heart and its qualities. External prayer is A conception of my Proper state. The gap between the outer And the intermediate desires Determines everything. The more precisely our desires Are aimed at the goal of creation, The gentler the Upper correction. You should always be As you are required to be right now, Not at some other stage. No flaws come From Above— They all reside within you. Only your studying reveals How far you deviate From who you ought to be right now. Pressure and all the good You sense from the world Are the correcting forces. When a person reaches the goal, The worlds vanish— And the Simple Light is revealed. In spirituality, there is one solution: Turn to the Creator— He will correct the desire. No coercion in the spiritual Is a law, because coercion Is impossible there. Free will is the measure In which you allow A good environment to influence you. Haiku Lesson Notes September 9, 2026 1. Rabash, Article 5,1985, "Go Forth from Your Land" (Recorded lesson, Nov. 3, 2003) 2. TES (Recorded lesson, Nov.14, 2007) "Go forth from your land" means: Leave the desire to receive, Leave self-love. "To the land that I will show you" – This is the desire to bestow, Where the Creator will be revealed to you. Do not look at the reward – That is the Creator's affair. Focus on the order of the work. The entire reward is The privilege of serving the King Without any compensation. The next degree cannot be grasped – The Creator provides the example And the strength to transition to it. Precisely the "Lech Lecha" transitions Build special kelim Within man. Your body should Use the goal As fuel. The Creator is not someone Who exists Outside us. The Creator is hidden – If you could picture Him, You would not need the group. Make the group the Upper Force – It will lead you to know The hidden Creator. The Creator's pressure merely Compels you to make a choice – At the point of choice, it vanishes. The choice is not between the desire To receive and the desire to bestow, But in becoming like the Giver. The middle line is built When you choose To become like the Creator. Free will Exists above The will to receive. It seems you are failing, But these are not failures: Your heart received extra burdening. Initially, love for the Creator is the goal. It is attained in the end, Love for the friend is the means. The importance of adhesion to the Creator Is most precious and is engraved In the mind and heart. Love for the Creator is unattainable Without the kli that I build Together with my friends. By working with the group, I truly become Like the Creator. If the group values A spiritual quality, its desire Awakens the Surrounding Light. Uphold the most vital values Within the environment Like a blazing fire. Demands can be set regarding external things, But it is forbidden to interfere With the internal spiritual work. Apart from setting an example, We have no right to intervene In a friend's spiritual work. All that is needed is the willingness To build one shared goal And one group. We have no right To neglect any single layer Of the entire system. Haiku Lesson Notes September 8, 2026 1. Rabash. Article 40, 1989. What Is, “Every Day They Will Be as New in Your Eyes,” in the Work? (Recorded lesson, Oct 30, 2002) 2. TES (Recorded lesson, Nov. 13, 2007) Statues and ordinances: each day They will be as new in your eyes As if today you were commanded them. No two prayers are alike— From the day the world was created Until the end of the world. Each person and his prayer differs From another, for each corrects what The other does not. It is not worthwhile to be born To derive pleasure from waste.— So man seeks the spiritual sustenance. When you aspire to work for bestowal, A new order of life begins: Ascents and descents. Transgression leads to transgression: Despair devalues Lo Lishma And then leads to pride. During a descent, multiply Habitual actions done "above reason" To get closer to adhesion with the Creator. During an ascent, Bring order to your actions And intentions. When you acquired the intention To bestow, the Creator joins it To your previous actions. With Torah's help, correct New qualities daily— Nothing repeats. The desire to receive is not new— Only the intention to bestow Is renewed. It is by the intention That we evaluate A person. He is called man Who uses free will to form himself In the likeness to the Creator. All efforts made in Lo Lishma Are included in the intention to bestow And become part of the work forever. Do not measure your ups and downs By mood or feelings— Judge them by your intention. In the spiritual, Intention itself Is an action. The more effort put into the group, Study, and dissemination, The clearer the intention is revealed. If you seek the Creator for your own sake, That is already Lo Lishma. Keep working at it. After taking action, ask yourself: "For is the aim of this?"— That is how intention is tested. Righteous accepts everything That comes from above, And always perceives it as good. When you don't know what and why, Work on your intention, on your Perception of what is happening. In the morning: "If I don't do it for me, who will?" In the evening: "There is none else but Him." That is how you work on intention. If I perceive what comes from Above As evil, it means that I am judging the Creator. It does not matter how I feel. What matters is that my attitude Toward Him remains good. When you begin to think about Your attitude toward the Creator— That is the beginning of a correct intention. Haiku Lesson Notes September 7, 2026 1. Rabash. Article 42, 1990. "What Are a Blessing and a Curse, in the Work?" (Recorded lesson, Oct. 8, 2002) 2. TES (Recorded lesson, Nov. 12, 2007) Know before whom you stand— The more you exalt the Creator, The greater the joy to serve Him. Do everything for the sake of Heaven, By which you attain equivalence of form, And there is no room for shame. Action is an awakening from below, Which a kli for the intention to bestow: Without action, there is no intention. Without faith in the Sages, We have no counsel For moving forward. You ask for kelim of bestowal— Yet after all your efforts, The will to receive only grows. Do not flee the battlefield. Thank the Creator: By His power, you will not leave. The spiritual path is built On faith above reason, Not on corporeal calculations. Begin anew each day— Do not say, "I have already prayed." Supplicate the Creator again today. Each day creates a hisaron. Days merge into one, and The Creator grants desire to bestow. A true hisaron is when No-one can fill it, Except the Creator Himself. Desire to receive for oneself is The angel of death: it separates you From the source of life. In spiritual work, Blessing is bestowal, And a curse is reception. Everything begins with negation. Without recognizing your evil, You can't take the right step to the goal. A mistake becomes a kli. When fully revealed, And paves the way for correction. To see your evil, to see the mistakes Means you have done More than half the work. Only from the depths of errors Does a person begin To awaken. Do not strive for mistakes. Strive constantly for the light: The light does all the work. You may receive the whole world. But inside, a voice says: "I will remain empty." Before a masach, actions are Achoraim; With the masach, we draw the light And merit Panim. Old age in spiritual work is When strength runs dry, Along with the drive to reach the goal. The question "What do I live for?" Makes man. Prior to that, There is no free will and no man. There are no mistakes on the path. An apparent mistake reveals One's opposition to the Creator. The only mistake is To exert less effort Than you are capable of. Don't wait to be pushed by suffering. The strength to move forth can be Drawn only from the environment. My only action is to get fortified Through the environment. The rest comes from Above. Haiku Lesson Notes September 6, 2026 1. Rabash. Article 31, 1991. What Does It Mean that Charity to the Poor Makes the Holy Name, in the Work? (Recorded lesson, Jun. 26, 2002) 2. TES Lesson with Rabash 3. Baal HaSulam. The Arvut (Building a spiritual society) True awe seeks no reward: Fuflill Torah and commandments Just to serve exalted King. The body cannot grasp how to Serve another without reward And enjoy that person's enjoyment. Each time, there is a new task: No day is like another, And no moment is like another. There is no other counsel but To ask the Creator for the power To trust above the body's reason. The first prayer is about need: Ask the Creator to reveal to us What we are lacking. Demand that Torah lead to truth— Its light returns one to the Source, Revealing the true hisaron. Aim your actions toward bestowal— Then Light illuminates the creations, And the Holy Name becomes complete. The heart's inner desire is, in fact, The true request: Beautiful words are not needed. Light improves the desire, It attracts more light. Thus Lo Lishma leads to Lishma. Apart from light and desire, Nothing exists in reality— Everything else does not count. Align your actions with the Creator, Like a horse with the rider's moves: It determinse the measure of adhesion. Justify your state, Accept it and live with it— Therein lie peace and joy. Joy is not necessarily laughter. Joy is simply Serenity. When desire is empty, Fill it with the Light Hassadim— The pleasure of bestowal. Beforehand, give importance to the goal And to the Creator, so that in difficult times, You have something to hold onto. Acquire a friend for yourself— Let him "brainwash" you: There is nothing but the goal. You depend one hundred percent On your friends— This is your only choice. There is no other reason for despair And sorrow, except one — A lack of connection to the goal. You exit Egypt when you Control the desire to receive, Rather than it controlling you. The Temple is destroyed in the heart: We fall from mutual love Into baseless hatred. Before the correction, regret The destruction in the heart, And let this lead to correction. The words of prayer are given To awaken the heart— Not merely to be spoken aloud. Reflect on your current state— Don't dream of the work after Machsom, Study what you can do right now. Haiku Lesson Notes September 5, 2026 – Evening Lesson Wholehearted Prayer. Baal HaSulam. Shamati 209. Three Conditions of Prayer (Recorded lesson, Oct. 1, 2023) The main thing in life is To implore the Creator to correct us From receiving to bestowing. Do not make calculations— Even from the worst state, The Creator can save. Don't think that the Creator won't help. All the power of creation is in Him. He can correct everything. The Creator can give you All that you need to reach The End of Correction. Everything comes only from Above— Use your heart to connect All that happens to the Creator. You've done all you could, yet Things got worse? Don't stop praying: The Creator will not abandon you. Hold onto the Creator as a child Holds onto his mother— Do not let Him go. To abandon the request means Not to trust that the Creator Is able to correct us. The Creator confuses us So that we use it to turn To Him and the Goal of Creation. It seems the Creator isn't helping— This, too, comes from Him, So that you address Him more deeply. It is always possible to feel The Upper World. Everything depends On turning to the Creator. Either the group or death— Without connection to the friends, There is no spiritual life. Don't break your connection With the friends and with the Creator Even for an instant. Only through a shared connection Can we persuade the Creator To correct us. Correction is visible in Your treating the friends in the ten As if they were your own kin. Uncover the single soul— The structure of Adam Rishon. And you will see: we are all kin. Seek love through the friends— Rise above the feeling of rejection, And the Creator will show the power of love. Material love is self-love; Spiritual love is for others. The Creator shows what this means. All that is in your power is to implore. There is nothing else— Nothing else you can do in life. Everyone must raise a unique prayer From one's own nature And attain correction. Haiku Lesson Notes The Prayer of the Many (Recorded lesson, Oct. 16, 2015) September 5, 2026 The path of prayer is from my heart, Through the hearts of the friends, To the Creator. The prayer of many is A single desire, When all are as one. Prayer is Constant inner work, The work in the heart. Prayer means judging oneself: Am I turning to the Creator In the right way? The right request is That the Creator gather us Into a single whole. The higher I hold my friends, The more I can ask On their behalf. Connect with the group. Ask the Creator for your friends, Just as a mother asks for her children. If friends grow weak, The key is to ask the Creator For them. Ask for the group every day, Even mechanically, Even if not from the heart. The Creator doesn't connect To some one. He connects Only through the ten. Do not detach from the ten: The Creator is revealed Only in our connection. The Creator does not exist in isolation— We speak only of that Which manifests between us. Use your egoistic desire Within the group To draw closer to friends. Uncover your egoism To see your state And unite above it. Amidst hatred and indifference, Ask the Creator to bring us closer— That is how one draws near to Him. Do everything for the sake of unity. And, having realized your powerlessness, Ask the Creator for help. Total powerlessness And the thirst to reveal the Creator Give rise to the cry: "Help!" A collective cry from the heart Draws down the Upper Light— It unites and corrects. First—correction, Then—revelation Of the Creator. A prayer for others Always receives An answer from the Creator. What matters most is the Creator's joy. It does not matter through whom— Even without any connection to me. The Creator is hidden so that we Do not see the result And do not receive a reward. Repentance means asking For past egoism To turn into bestowal. Prayer has many facets: Praise, awe, supplication, Gratitude, and reproach. Haiku Lesson Notes September 4, 2026 1. Rabash. Article 34, 1991. "What Is Eating Their Fruits in This World and Keeping the Principal for the Next World, in the Work?" (Recorded lesson, Jul. 17, 2002). 2. Introduction to the Wisdom of Kabbalah (Ptiha) (Recorded lesson, May 10, 2006). The Creator created the will to receive, But assigned it to us to create Kelim of the desire to bestow to Him. The Light of Torah gives a second nature— The desire to bestow to the Creator, Leading to equivalence of form. The Light of Torah reveals the evil Of receiving for oneself And begets the hisaron to bestow. When bestowal seems unattainable, One wants to leave the path, But there is nowhere else to go. To exit Egypt means to exit The authority of self-interest And to serve the Creator. The correcting Torah has advice: The Light returns one to the Source And grants the desire to bestow. 613 pieces of advice are followed By 613 deposits, when the Torah, The Creator, and Israel become one. The fulfilling Torah is the Creator's names: The Light fills the corrected kli Enabling it to know the Creator. Wealth, honor, and good deeds Fall under the authority of klipot If everything is done for self-interest. Before one has reached the intention To bestow, studying and good deeds Are mere preparation. After the Machsom, there's light of faith, And one gets to know the Creator According to similarity to Him. You are currently correcting yourself Through the first nine sefirot, which Underlays correction in Gmar Tikkun. All the Torah exists within a single person: Not the history of this world, But the order of the soul's correction. Before the Machsom, there's no holiness And no klipa—everything lies within The desire to receive. Drawing closer to the Creator And to the friend Leads to holiness. Actions taken at the expense of others And in disconnection from the Creator Lead to a klipa. Unify yourself, the act, and the Creator At a single point— As one whole. Don't dread not reaching A higher step: do what you can Right now, in this very moment. No quality is bad in itself: Only intention determines Whether it serves evil or good. Do not judge what is good or bad Without the ultimate goal in mind: Everything has its place. Leave the world be— Change yourself, and you will see The world become good. In the spiritual, there is no middle ground: It is either holiness or klipa— The difference lies only in power. The middle line is not a midpoint Between holiness and klipa: It is the measure of being in holiness. Klipat Noga is a desire Not yet assigned To either holiness or klipa. When all conditions converge, Yet you find no solution yourself— A cry, MAN, to the Creator emerges. A person must live in his desires: Distinguish them, sort them, And correct them. Haiku Lesson Notes September 3, 2026 1. Rabash. Article 18, 1984. And It Shall Come to Pass When You Come to the Land that the Lord Your God Gives You (Recorded lesson, Nov. 1, 2002) 2. TES (Recorded lesson, Nov. 11, 2007) "Land" is a desire in the heart, Where power belongs to "Israel" Or to the "nations of the world." "Nations of the land" are The desires of egoistic love: All aspirations are for self-benefit. "Israel" means straight to the Creator: Disregarding the self, Directing all thoughts to Him. Two powers cannot coexist: Either the desire to receive, Or the desire to bestow. War against the evil inclination means Humbling the heart and yielding power To the desire to bestow to the Creator. After all your efforts, trust that The Creator granted victory, Not the strength of your own hand. "The Land of Israel" means that You see the Creator's governance; If not, it is the "land of the nations." Evil is revealed when You see yourself as opposite To the attributes of the Creator. Desires are revealed from Above In the measure of your being ready To work with them. Through envy of friends, One adopts the sensation Of the greatness of the Upper One. To work in the attributes of bestowal In practice means to cross The Machsom. The structure of desire is immutable— One can influence only the pace Of one's own development. The next step cannot be foreseen: You do not know in what form The new state will come. In every state, Care for only one thing— To find the connection with the Creator. The sensation depends On the importance of the One Who sends the state. Only perception changes— And suffering turns into Pleasure and peace. If you measure everything solely By whether it feels good or bad— That is the beastly level. Even if you curse the Creator— Keep thinking of Him; Just do not ignore Him. Indifference is the worst: Let yourself be shaken, But do not remain indifferent. In the spiritual, efforts are never lost: Even if one strays from the path, The connection remains. The Creator’s nature isn't attained at once: Distinction after distinction— That is how the kli is assembled. All events in this world Stem from spiritual changes. Change is possible only in the spiritual. Israel and the nations of the world Are the two parts of a single kli Of the single soul of Adam HaRishon. Israel is chosen To correct itself, and then Show everyone else how to do it. In the spiritual, the "nations of the world" Are your own uncorrected qualities. Correct them and you will see a good world. Haiku Lesson Notes September 2, 2026 1. Rabash. Article 24, 1988. What Is “The Concealed Things Belong to the Lord, and the Revealed Things Belong to Us,” in the Work? (Recorded lesson, Nov. 3, 2002) 2. TES (Recorded lesson, November 11, 2007) Human nature is to receive Solely for one's own benefit: Without benefit, one does not act. "Israel" believes above reason: The force of bestowal is a mystery. Yet, it can be attained. Start by forcing yourself, and trust: "We will do" leads to "we shall hear," Difficulty leads to prayer. Actions are needed to learn that After all your efforts, you get To see that the Creator does everything. The cleaner garment you desire, The more dirt you see on it— The more clearly you see your state. Intention to bestow is not In our power: this force Must be granted by the Creator. Do what is revealed to you; The Creator will grant the intention— The hidden part belongs to Him. The point of Malchut: I know nothing; I have no strength; the kli is empty— Nothing originates from me. The point of Keter: The Creator Is omnipotent; He is absolute good. And the goal is exalted and desirable. The gap between these points Forms the entire kli That perceives the goal. Torah is the light that Corrects and fills the kelim: The correcting and fulfilling force. A request is the kli's equivalence To the Upper One. He fills the kli— You ascend to His level. One reveals only that measure of Being opposite to goodness Which one is able to withstand. You cannot correct yourself— Turn to the Creator: Connection with Him is the goal. Reality does not change: Only the intention changes— From receiving to bestowing. Intention alters perception: Everything remains the same, Yet the cause and purpose become visible. A feeling creates a gap Between the light and the desire— Without light, there is no sensation. Attribute the thought to the Creator— He sent it for you to work with, And it becomes something of value. If shame comes from the Creator, It becomes not a cause for flight, But a true springboard. Do not think, "I did it wrong"— Such an attitude is incorrect: It wasn't you at all. The entire path gathers distinctions And impressions, from which The kli is built. By correcting the kli, you become An adult, equal to the Creator, And His partner. Correct your own part, Which is included in all souls— Thus, you will reach the End of Correction. In the group, everyone should feel that Without the others, one cannot attain The spiritual and come to the Creator. Worlds and spiritual degrees are My attitude and connection With the Creator. Lesson Haiku Notes September 1, 2026 1. Rabash. Article 12, 1986. What Is The Main Deficiency For Which One Should Pray (Recorded lesson, Jun. 4, 2002) 2. TES (Recorded lesson, Aug. 28, 2007) To fill hisarons, clarify The primary one and distinguish Between the spiritual and material. The material is all that one does For self-benefit, while the spiritual Is done for the sake of the Creator. A kli of bestowal does not exist in nature: A person is born only with a kli Of self-interest. In spirituality, first ask for a kli-hisaron So that you may aspire To delight the Creator. A true hisaron is the lack of a kli. Pray for this hisaron, And the Creator will give you a new one. What doesn't exist is not hisaron: One must feel the lack of it And suffer from its absence. Do not ask for the upper abundance— Ask for a kli of bestowal, So that the abundance may be revealed. Work can become a reward, And effort—pleasure: It all depends on one's attitude. All suffering arises because The reward is distant from the work. That is the essence of it. If the reward is bestowal And you are already bestowing, You have attained tranquility and happiness. A hisaron for bestowal cannot be found Within oneself or in reality— Ask the Creator for it. Concealment is necessary so that one may ask For the desire to bestow, Without yet knowing what it is. The spark of bestowal, remaining after the shattering And held captive within the desire to receive, Makes it possible to desire bestowal. One arrives at Lishma from Lo Lishma By striving until the force is granted— This is the crossing of the Machsom. The time of preparation takes place within falsehood: The transgressions and mistakes made there Will be needed by us later on. Prayer is a true hisaron That the heart feels In its very depths. The Creator both creates and fills This hisaron: He creates Both the kli and the fulfillment. Be honest with your feelings, And connect everything to the Creator— The sole source of all actions. In prayer, we ask for prayer: Even the kli does not originate with us— Everything comes from the Creator. If you desire a connection with the Upper One— Maintain it ceaselessly: It will determine everything for you. Hold fast to the connection: Israel, the Torah, and the Creator are one— Cling to Him through your actions. Fulfill the Creator’s condition, And He will lead you across the Machsom: The crossing is not something one earns. Receive from the group An impression of the importance of spirituality— Without the group, it cannot be felt. We seem to be playing at spirituality, But the body believes what it sees And hears, absorbing the impression. Open disregard for the path Cannot be tolerated—it weakens you And disconnects you from the goal. Haiku Lesson Notes August 31, 2026 1. Rabash. Article 39, 1989. What Is "The Torah Speaks Only Against the Evil Inclination" in the Work?" (Recorded lesson, Oct. 29, 2002) 2. TES (Recorded lesson, Aug. 22, 2007) The Creator created an unchanging Desire to receive— Desire to enjoy. In its created state, it is capable Only of existing and feeling life To a small, negligible degree. Desire to receive for self-gain Is called the evil inclination— It is the cause of all evil in the world. By receiving for its own sake, Man feels shame because He is the opposite of the Creator. The Light of Torah returns one To the Source, freeing the person From the authority of selfish reception. The commandments were given Solely for the purpose Of purifying man through them. When you work for the sake of bestowal And not for the benefit of the body, Work with the evil inclination begins. Desires do not change— The intention does. And with it, the form of the desires. Intention changes the quality: By receiving for the sake of bestowal, Receiving becomes bestowal. Receiving for the sake of bestowal Is the real correction, Equivalence of form. The entry of Binah into Malchut Gives it volume and the capacity To rise from Nefesh to NRNH. Intention gives us everything: It expands the kli from the point of Malchut To the full height of the Creator. Intention leads the soul To complete equivalence And adhesion with the Creator. Intention for the sake of bestowal Means that you experience pleasure From the fact that you bestow to the Creator. Mitzvot are permitted actions That I perform With the intention to bestow. The wisdom of Kabbalah explains how To develop the correct intention Only in the area of what is permitted. The action of bestowal to a friend Is from my desire To his desire. Do not shun the desire to receive: By erasing it, You erase yourself. Examine every pleasure: If you can receive in order to bestow, Make the most of it. Do not hate desires and the body, Life, and impulses. Instead, ensure You use them correctly. The material means for the sake of receiving, It doesn't mean merely using the body And the physical senses. We judge by external guises, Not by the pleasure itself: Whether it is for reception or bestowal. A physical transgression is the action. A spiritual one lies in the intention To enjoy selfishly. A commandment or a transgression Occurs within the action itself, Even without any specific intention. Haiku Lesson Notes August 30, 2026 1. Rabash. Article 35, 1989. What Is "He Who Has No Sons", in the Work (Recorded lesson, Aug. 12, 2002) 2. TES Lesson with Rabash 3. Baal HaSulam. Mutual Guarantee (Building a spiritual society) Without the desire To defeat the evil inclination, There is no help from Above. Intensifying our prayer, We trust the Creator will help us escape The authority of the desire to receive. While engaging with Torah and Mitzvot, Wish for the reward—the power to fight Against the arguments of the spies. The Torah is barren for a person If he does not seek within it the light For actions for the sake of Heaven. Before studying, demand from the Torah The light for work for the Creator's sake, Rather than for your own benefit. To receive the Torah means To accept from the Creator the power That corrects the desire to receive. A tree requires the tilling of the soil, While a person needs Torah and commandments To transform receiving into bestowing. Israel stands in opposition to the Creator And requires the light of the Torah— The power that brings correction. The light awakens all desires, And suddenly a new one emerges— A desire for the light itself. The light shines, then fades. When it shines, we crave the spiritual; When it fades, we fall into the material. By exerting effort, We begin to desire the spiritual More than anything material. The light of Torah performs two actions: First, it awakens a hisaron, Then, it grants the correction. Entering and exiting, the Light Sway the kli and builds in it The organ of perception. By raising MAN, a person knows What to correct and to what extent, Participating in the correction alongside the Creator. A person changes in the environment: The more internal entries and exists there are, The shorter the path becomes. A state—whether good or bad— If it lasts longer than a moment, Is no longer suitable. If you do not align your desire With the desire of the Creator, The action will turn into suffering. The spiritual kli is our attitude— The Masach and the Reflected Light Acting upon the desire to receive. Only the Creator builds the Masach, In proportion to the desire to love Him Just as He loves you. First, we annul the "self," Then we connect with the Creator— Love comes last. Think from the end back to the beginning: Recognize the evil of your current state And the good of the higher level. "We will do"—action above reason; "We will hear"—we will receive correction, And only then shall we understand His words. Exert effort within the egoistic desire— The Creator will grant Its exact opposite. The Upper Force is accepted Either as holiness for the sake of correction Or as a klipa for self-gain. When egoism is perceived as evil, A stronger egoism Helps one break free from it. Haiku Lesson Notes August 29, 2026 – Evening Lesson Self-Annulment as Preparation for Ibur (Recorded lesson, Sept. 25, 2021) To start entering the spiritual world is To reveal the Creator according to the laws That He established from Above downward. Find the Creator in thought and in heart For Him to fill us completely, for He is The source of spiritual life. Before our work, there is only Atzmuto: An abstract force That cannot be revealed. While the Creator is not yet revealed, Prayers and appeals are directed to Atzmuto Until He reveals Himself between us. The Creator is the result of our self-annulment. When everyone pushes egoism aside, Making room for the force of bestowal. By nullifying myself before the ten, I prepare a place for the Creator’s revelation— He reveals Himself only between us. "You have made Me" means that we build The Creator in the connection between us, Above our egoism. Behind every friend stands the Creator: To the extent I nullify myself before him, To that extent I reveal the Creator. Complete unity is when We nullify the desire to receive And turn it toward bestowal. Imagine yourself in oneness With the friends, like an embryo. The connection between us is like a womb. Ibur is when, within my egoism, there is A place for the Creator as the force of bestowal In the smallest degree, Nefesh. In the measure of self-nullification, We sense the force of bestowal— It is called Bo u-Re (Come and see). We think, speak, and practice Self-nullification in our connections. Thus, we begin to sense the Creator. We define true nullification Only by the result: Whether or not the Creator is revealed. Gradually, we arrive at constant Self-nullification. This alone is What the Upper Force takes into account. To bend one’s egoism, To subjugate it, Is part of self-nullification. Strive to feel everything With your heart, with your desires— Rely less on your intellect. Only through self-annulment Before the group can I measure The extent of my progress. Haiku Lesson Notes August 29, 2026 1. Lesson on the Topic: As a Fetus in Its Mother’s Womb (Recorded Lesson, Jan. 17, 2013) 2. Building a spiritual society We need to demand and clarify What is missing between us For the Creator to be revealed. The point of self-annulment is The start of Ibur. The first point Of a spiritual level is humility. The group is the womb; to enter, I nullify myself and integrate Into it ever more deeply. Ego pushes me out of the group, But by nullifying myself, I return— In this way grows the spiritual fetus. In the first drop of Ibur, All spiritual reality Is already contained. The group is the Shechina. The Creator-- "The Holy One, Blessed be He." The quality of bestowal is holy to me. The Creator seems to push you away To develop in you a sufficient Desire for adhesion. Regardless of the attained degrees, In descent, they all get concealed— As if you hadn't even begun. When I disconnect from the point Of unity and return to it again, You prepare to reveal the Creator. Through mutual guarantee, we help Each other to return immediately To the point of unity. In spirituality, There is no personal calculation: We come as one kli—one equals all. The Creator grants but a moment to fall, After which you must regain strength. Otherwise, the whole group falls. Everyone depends on me— I take responsibility for the group, And I am obliged to work. Connect tighter with the group: Through study, dissemination, action— And the fall lasts but a moment. The entire gain is in overcoming Despair and weaknesses, and in Immediately returning to connection. As I yearn for the Creator, I discover: He, too, yearns for me In the group's collective kli. In spirituality, there is no partiality: The Light is revealed only In a complete kli of ten sefirot. A complete prayer is to ask the Creator To grant us the desire to fully Nullify ourselves before Him. Aviyut distances Light from the kli. Masach and Reflected Light unify them. The law is immutable. Set conditions not for the Creator, But for yourself. The spiritual law Is constant. Revelation depends on the kli. Every state comes from the Creator For one's own good, and demands A proper response. Direct your response not to yourself, But to the unity of the group And the revelation of the Creator in it. There is no one to turn to but Him: He governs all and has given me The opportunity to turn to Him. It matters not whether I feel good or bad: What matters is to feel Who is acting On me, and to know Him. We can act anywhere in the world— Everything depends on intention, On the spiritual effort of the heart. Haiku Lesson Notes August 28, 2026 1. Rabash. Article 31, 1988. What Is the Work of Man in the Work that Is Attributed to the Creator? (Recorded lesson, Oct. 2, 2002) 2. Introduction to the Wisdom of Kabbalah (Ptiha) (Recorded lesson, May 9, 2006) When you bless pleasure, trust that It is the Creator who bestowed it— To delight His creations. The meaning of the blessing is To thank the Giver by blessing The work of His hands. The action is reception of pleasure. The intention is the cause of reception, Which compels one to accept it. The blessing is the intention: I enjoy fulfilling the Creator's Desire to delight His creatures. Receive in order to bestow, I don't Detach from, but merge with the Creator, Passing His light to the lower ones. Blessing is preparing kelim to be filled With abundance by the Creator, without Their being harmed or detached. The Creator gives desire to receive. The lower ones—intention to bestow. Thus, the kli becomes whole. Selfish receiving fortifies klipot. Intention to bestow Multiplies the light. It is not the caliber of pleasure That matters, but rather, how much I desire to delight the Creator. The aspiration to delight the Creator Leads to equivalence of form And draws down greater light. Do not ask for great lights— Strive to acquire great Kelim of bestowal. Only the awe depends on the person— It is the kli whose caliber determines The abundance that comes from Above. Holiness and klipa are both necessary: In opposition to one another, They reveal the spiritual degree. Sin opened the way to the NRNH Of impurity, followed by the opportunity To extract the NRNH of holiness. To know the measure of bestowal, Recognize the forces hindering it And build your bestowal out of them. A simple desire to receive Is neither good nor evil; The shuttering turns it into klipa. Klipa is the inverse image of the Creator: Through it, I recognize the form of holiness, And build the holy image upon it. The Creator’s repose means that Kelim are corrected and nothing Hinders the work. Inaction is death. The more you grow, The stronger the desires And the more serious the obstacles. One is drawn into klipa only To the extent one can withstand it And use it correctly. Directly, a klipa gives only Nehr Dakik, A faint light. Beyond that— Only through the masach. To be gripped by a klipa is to trust That by selfish receiving, you can Attain spiritual pleasures. A klipa shines with distant pleasure, Luring and deceiving: approach it— And find nothing. It is not troubles that leads one Out of the klipa, but the friends Show pleasure in something else. Form images in your mind Capable of withstanding The klipa's pull. Haiku Lesson Notes August 27, 2026 1. Rabash. Article 31, 1988. What Is the Work of Man in the Work that Is Attributed to the Creator? (Recorded lesson, Oct. 1, 2002) 2. TES (Recorded lesson, Aug. 21, 2007) Light is received gradually: The kelim of the lower ones Are unable to receive it all at once. Each masach conceals the light, Yet through it, the light is revealed— Thus, a multitude of worlds came into being. The world is concealment, created To provide space for awe and work For the sake of bestowal. A kli that receives in order to receive Is given to man as his nature. A kli of bestowal is acquired through effort. Concealment allows for choice: To not receive Without the intention to bestow. The goal is to delight the created beings; Correction is work for the sake of bestowal, Leading to adhesion and equivalence of form. True fear is not for oneself: It is the fear of diminishing Contentment bestowed to the Creator. Fear stems from emptiness of the kli: I fear emptiness either in receiving Or emptiness in bestowal. The Creator does not need your awe— Fear to lose the opportunity To work for the sake of bestowal. The more important the Creator is to me, The stronger the hisaron To bestow upon Him. Everything is felt in the kli: The Creator, His creation, all the worlds. We study only our own kli. The way I perceive my kli Constructs my world For me. The first correction is To make a tzimtzum On your pleasure. Restriction and the intention to bestow Grant freedom from the authority Of your kli. To cross the machsom is to rise Above the will to receive and view things From the Creator's perspective. Having obtained the Creator's attributes In your kli, you see the unocorrected Part of the will to receive. We don't leave our own kli, for in it We feel the Creator and His thoughts To the extent we grasp them. Instead of desired satisfaction, I feel in my kli the Giver, And I want nothing else. Without giving direct satisfaction, The Creator uses suffering to teach us To be filled with His presence. Outside the authority of the hisaron, I can determine on my own: To naturally receive or to bestow. A kli is the means, not the goal. By filling the kli, I reach What is higher. Don't seek how to fill the kli. Seek the Creator: He offers Himself As your fulfillment. All development occurs through Growth of the will to receive. So we arrive at Behina Dalet. We hasten the path through the group: We pass through the same stages faster, Without skipping a single one. Intellect doesn't aid advancement. We must do actions And follow Kabbalists' advice. Haiku Lesson Notes August 26, 2026 1. Rabash. Article 46, 1991. What Is the Son of the Beloved and the Son of the Hated in the Work (Recorded lesson, Oct. 28, 2002) 2. TES (Recorded lesson, Aug. 21, 2007) There are two forces in a person: Desire to receive for self-gain And desire to bestow to the Creator. The Creator grants both desires: To receive—at birth; to bestow— After effort and seeking counsel. Desire to receive needs no effort: It pushes us forward; without it, There is no development. All effort in Torah and commandments Is needed to acquire a hisaron For the desire to bestow. For fulfilling the Torah and Mitzvot, I seek but one reward— Adhesion to the Creator. During descent, receiving prevails; Then I strive to bestow again. Thus, ascents and descents alternate. Without the Creator's help, it is impossible To acquire even the need For the desire to bestow. Having exhausted all strength, One is unable to continue And wants to quit spiritual work. Descent reveals the truth That one is ruled by self-love, Making one seek a way out. Without the evil inclination And descents, there would be No hisaron to merge with the Creator. We learn by contrasts. So, without the evil inclination, There is no good inclination. The Creator is good, But this is not the "good inclination," Rather, it is simply goodness. Desire to receive is our nature, While good and evil are intentions Applied to that desire. Desire stems from the four stages Of Direct Light; the intention— From the shattering. Desire is the raw material; Our work is the intention Applied to the desire. Kabbalah is the hidden Torah: Intention cannot Be seen. All work is internal: Not with the desire, But with the intention. Constantly check: What are you working with— The desire or the intention? Draw the intention from within And see how you are thinking About yourself all the time. My "self" is not the desire itself, But the intention to receive; I strive to make it an intention to bestow. Even discerning the intention Is possible only in the Creator's light; Changing it—only through Him. Restrictions, lines, and levels— All pertain to intentions: A level is a measure of bestowal. The world of five senses doesn't change. Desire itself does not change either. Only the intention does. A physical action is justified Only if it helps maintain A more accurate intention. A commandment without intention Is like a body Without a soul. Haiku Lesson Notes August 25, 2026 1. Rabash. Article 35 (1985). When A Person Knows What the Fear of the Creator Is (Recorded lesson, August 15, 2002) 2. TES (Recorded lesson, August 20, 2007) Within reason, one sees contradictions In Providence, in how the Creator Behaves with creatures. But I must understand that The Creator desires that I Serve Him in faith above reason. The path of faith is the true one: Having attained closeness to the Creator, I walk only by faith above reason. Above reason, the body asks: Is it worth the effort? Is the path right? Is the goal attainable? There are always ups and downs: Sometimes, reason prevails; Other times, faith above reason does. "Within reason" is the place Where the Sitra Achra Attaches itself. Receiving into one's own kelim is Knowing in the mind and heart. Faith—to dwell in the kli of the Upper One. Faith exists only above reason, And only when it stems From love and awe. Only by the power of Binah Do we hold fast above reason— In the Upper One, in the spiritual. A person is not to blame for the sin itself: He is lowered from a higher degree, To begin his correction. Having completed the current degree, You receive the next one In darkness. Darkness and distance from the spiritual Are not a punishment but a reward: New kelim for a new degree. Don't judge your state by the feeling. Look at the spiritual goal: The punishment will prove to be a correction. The stronger I become, The more difficult my states are. The reward seems like a punishment. Punishment is when one is not led Into difficult states, Not the states themselves. Kabbalah itself is not secret: It is revealed as one is ready for it. Otherwise, it would be harmful. Until 1995, this wisdom was concealed: People could not accept spiritual definitions That transcend ordinary knowledge. If one hasn't been shown his evil, There is no talk of correction— For there is nothing to correct. First comes the Tzimtzum. Then the work for the sake of bestowal— A love independent of personal gain. Love means following another’s desire And, by fulfilling his desire, Fulfilling one’s own. The Light created the kli in its own measure: The kli contains everything That exists within the Light itself. Even the Giver resides within the Light And introduces Himself Into the kli. Build a healthy system, As if the spiritual were not involved, Then clothe the spiritual in it. Love for the friends helps To acquire additional kelim And the strength to reach the goal. A healthy foundation of connection Is required to be present Through both ascents and descents. A connection that binds us together Can lead to relating To a friend in a spiritual form.
