If you could improve your Qur’an reading in just one hour a week, would you make the time? 📖 Many of us want to read the Qur’an more confidently, correct our pronunciation and become more familiar with the sūrahs we recite so often — but we never find the right structure or opportunity to do it. Read & Reflect is a 30-week journey through Juz ‘Amma, designed to help you: ▪️ Correct your pronunciation ▪️ Build fluency and confidence ▪️ Learn the essentials of Quranic recital ▪️ Become familiar with commonly recited sūrahs ▪️ Reflect on their meanings and lessons ▪️ Receive guidance and correction from a teacher You don’t need to be an expert. You simply need the desire to improve. Give one hour a week to the Book of Allah — and see where the journey takes you. 📅 Every Sunday 🕐 1:00 pm 👥 Brothers only 💷 £7.50 per session 📚 30-week programme ⚠️ Enrolment closes 20 September. 🔗 Enrol here: https://surl.li/eudeke Read. Reflect. Grow with the Qur’an.

Bradford to Bangkok On my way to Malaysia last weekend, I stopped off in Bangkok for a few days. Muslims in Bangkok are a sizeable minority and well established in society, even though Thailand is overwhelmingly Buddhist. Halal restaurants are easy to find, and hijab is visibly present on the streets of the city. I took a long tail boat cruise along the Chao Phraya River and saw glimpses of everyday life along the water and the many ornate Buddhist temples and icons. There are also several historic masjids in Bangkok, some centuries old. Haroon Mosque sits in the old Bang Rak district, inside a maze of alleys lined with food stalls and small shops. Ton Son Mosque, located in Thonburi, stands near quiet residential streets. Thailand offers a striking example of religious coexistence. In some neighbourhoods, masjids sit beside Buddhist temples and monasteries, and everyone simply goes about their daily routines with quiet mutual respect. Bangkok may be a brief stopover for many travellers, but its harmony of faiths stays with you long after you leave. #bangkok #imammasood

Alhamdullilah, today before the Jumuah Khutbah, brother Jack from Halifax gave the Shahadah and accepted Islam as his way of life. We ask Allah to keep him firm on the religion, Ameen!

Malaysian Dream Fulfilled During my university days in London, I was blessed to meet many Malaysian friends, most of them through the Islamic Society. I still remember attending an iftar at Malaysia Hall, a warm and humble gathering that left a deep impression on me. The humility and good nature of the Malaysian brothers stayed with me for decades. Since that time, I always hoped that one day I would visit Malaysia myself. Today, Alhamdulillah, more than thirty years later, I have finally arrived in beautiful and modern Kuala Lumpur. I also visited the stunning mosque in Putrajaya, where preparations are underway for the national day celebrations on Sunday. Tomorrow, inshaAllah, I will fly to Penang to complete the Malaysian dream I imagined all those years ago. The manners and friendliness of the Malaysian taxi drivers did not disappoint. Immediately, I felt I was among my brothers in faith. Whether at home or abroad, they carry the same warmth and sincerity. This is the soft power of good manners, especially humility. It leaves an indelible mark on everyone you meet. The Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) said that good character is among the heaviest deeds in the scales on the Day of Judgement. May Allah bless our Malaysian brothers and sisters. They are a special part of this Ummah, and they will always hold a special place in my heart. #Malaysia #ImamMasood
