It was just pointed out to us - not only was our post deleted and our account PERMANENTLY BANNED from the Permaculture Subreddit… But they also went through and DELETED ALL OF OUR REPLIES in the comments… We spent hours crafting logically sound replies to the hate we were getting - and they left the hate while deleting our replies. Thankfully, we archived much of our replies, and hope to share our story in future class-action lawsuits. Farmers are being taken advantage of by fertilizer companies - and we’re being actively censored from exposing it - across multiple platforms. I often talk about trees making water. In this great video, Andrew Millison explains it with the help of some lovely visualisations. This is one of the most important concepts that we as human beings should understand and apply, especially those of us who own or manage land. A typical application of this can be observed in Hawaii, where one side of the mountains has been deforested to build luxury homes and hotels. As a result, on that side of the islands it rains a lot less and this causes drought problems. In the areas where forest has been allowed to stand, precipitation has barely changed. Instances of this concept can be observed in many places around the world, especially in mountainous and hilly regions, where water tables become dry and springs stop flowing a few years after felling forest at higher altitude. Hilly ground is tree ground. Exposed and steep areas should be left to naturally go back to forest, or managed wisely to become productive forests. Removing trees without the correct understanding, means messing with our local climate. The truth is that farming intentionally breaks the natural cycles in order to prevent ecological succession… Agriculture intends to grow crops chosen for economic reasons on a parcel of land chosen for economic reasons. Regenerative permaculture looks to take degraded land and steward it back to fertile land, and beyond to its climax community. Every species in an ecosystem gives back according to what it extracts. Humans must do the same - and we can do this in clever ways, such has welcoming grazers to the land for a few times each season, and follow the grazers with foul, and you can even crimp-and-roll any weeds growing on the field right before planting your seeds... Every parcel of land is unique and will be able to provide differently based on its location and terrain. Permaculture is all about working with the natural features of the Earth in order to harvest what we need while giving back what the ecosystem needs. Modern extractive farming looks at the land as a resource to be manipulated and exploited, rather than as an ecosystem to steward and harvest the abundance. This shift starts with us, and then ripples out to our farms, communities, and eventually - the world! @CarbonCaptureShield

Learning to harvest the potential energy of that terrain without diminishing it is the very heart of permaculture! Humans have the ability to reshape the terrain in order to suit our purposes - and it's high time we start reshaping our world in ways that harmonize with nature, as nature is the base operating system for all life on this Earth. If you haven’t made you some Garlic Honey 🧄🍯 for Cold & Flu season which is quickly approaching, you may want to! This has amazing benefits. All you need is 1/2 mason jar of garlic cloves and LOCAL raw & unfiltered honey. It needs to ferment for at least 4 weeks before use, and it is good for the year. We don’t know what winter will be like this year. Make a batch for yourself & a batch for your friends/family/neighbor in case someone gets sick real bad, or as a preventative.
