Earth’s soil is the foundation of our existence. It supports our feet, our farms, and our cities. But we’re running out of it. Fast. Professor David R. Montgomery has spent his career studying ecological systems and human societies. His research has led him to a startling conclusion: we are using up Earth’s soil at an alarming rate. Throughout history, civilizations have risen and fallen based on their ability to manage their soil. From Mesopotamia to Ancient Greece to the Roman Empire, societies have prospered when they’ve taken care of their dirt. But when they’ve abused it, they’ve collapsed. Today, we’re facing a global soil crisis. In the US, mechanized agriculture has eroded an alarming amount of agricultural land. In the developing world, degraded soil is a principal cause of poverty. We’re running out of soil, and agriculture will soon be unable to support the world’s growing population. But there is hope. Montgomery sees a solution in the rise of organic and no-till farming. These practices can help us avoid the fate of previous civilizations by preserving and regenerating our soil. The future of humanity depends on how we treat our dirt. Let’s take care of it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ej4nler3FiY @CarbonCaptureShield

Nature is amazing and self-sufficient. Look at this microclimate/ecosystem that has been thriving inside a sealed glass bottle for 53 years! This bottle garden is a self-sustaining ecosystem that uses the power of photosynthesis and cellular respiration to recycle nutrients and water: all powered by sunlight inside a sealed glass bottle! The water cycle is also closed, as the water evaporates and condenses inside the bottle. This is a fascinating example of how nature can thrive on its own, even in a small space. It shows us that we don’t need to exploit or harm the environment to grow food or enjoy nature’s beauty. We can be stewards and harvest nature’s abundance! What do you think of this amazing project?😊 Source: https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sciencetech/article-2267504/The-sealed-bottle-garden-thriving-40-years-fresh-air-water.html @CarbonCaptureShield

Did you know that Henry Ford dreamed of a “Farm-connected, Decentralized Industry” that would harmonize industry and nature?
Did you know that Henry Ford dreamed of a “Farm-connected, Decentralized Industry” that would harmonize industry and nature? Ford created Village Industries: small factories in rural areas that used water power to make products for his cars. He hired local farmers who could balance their work and farm life. He also used plants grown onsite to make food, fuel and plastic for his cars. At Green Island, NY (construction pictured), Ford purchased 189 acres to build a hydroelectric dam to power his largest factory to date, which was completed in 1923. Powered by the Hudson River for more than a half century, the Green Island Ford Plant became Ford’s key facility for the company’s Engine & Foundry division, employing about 900 workers per year for 65-years; until it was closed in 1988. Henry Ford wanted to reduce waste, save energy and promote health. He was a pioneer of “green manufacturing” and sustainable agriculture. His legacy inspires us to follow his footsteps and find creative ways to protect the environment while supporting rural communities. https://villageofgreenisland.com/gipa/about-gipa/ @CarbonCaptureShield

How much would you pay for nature? 🌎 Nature is priceless. It gives us everything we need to live and thrive. It is a gift that we should cherish and respect. But we’re taking nature for granted and wasting it away. This is a tragedy that we cannot afford. Nature supports our life on Earth by providing clean air, water, food, clothing and habitat. Nature also makes us smarter, stronger, healthier, happier and more productive. But we’re losing these benefits as we degrade and destroy nature at an alarming rate. We need to act now to protect and restore nature before it’s too late. Please share this video with your friends and family and join me in spreading appreciation for nature today! 🙌 I love nature because it inspires me every day. I want future generations to enjoy the beauty and wonder of nature as I do. What about you? What does nature mean to you? Let me know in the comments below! 💚 https://www.nps.gov/articles/naturesbenefits.htm @CarbonCaptureShield

We live in a complex and chaotic world, where beauty and wonder coexist with pain and suffering, and where we have access to more information and resources than ever before, but also face more challenges and threats. Tesla has just revealed its Master Plan Part 3, a bold vision for the future of transportation and energy. Here are some facts presented by Tesla engineers that will blow your mind: • Electric vehicles are more efficient than fossil fuel vehicles. A Tesla Model Y can travel farther on a single charge than a Honda CR-V can on a full tank of gas. • Electrifying the economy will reduce our energy needs by 50%, reducing dependence on foreign oil and lessen risk of wars. • Electrifying the economy will reduce our resource extraction from 68 Gt per year to 54 Gt per year. That means less deforestation, less mining, and less waste. We share the same vision as Tesla - to create a prosperous economy where humans use technology to enhance nature and its resources instead of depleting them. We want to create an abundant future for ourselves and our children, and that's why we support Tesla's Master Plan Part 3, and we hope you do too. There's no need to live like the Amish, but we should behave more like stewards and less like extractive plunderers. If you want to learn more about Tesla's Master Plan Part 3, check out this video summary: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WiXSSesvYzQ @CarbonCaptureShield

P.S. Some people may wonder why we need to capture carbon from the air if CO2 is not a problem. They may argue that CO2 is a natural and beneficial gas that plants need to grow. But they are missing a crucial piece of the puzzle: carbon is not only a gas, but also a solid. A solid that used to be abundant in our soils, but has been lost over time due to human activities. We have depleted our soils of carbon by plowing, tilling, burning and overgrazing them. We have released billions of tons of carbon from the soil into the atmosphere, where it contributes to global warming and climate change. So we don't need to remove carbon from our atmosphere as much as we need to get it back into our soil - using plants as solar-powered carbon pumps. By growing diverse and perennial plants on our lands, we can increase soil organic matter and sequester carbon in the soil. This can improve crop yields, soil health and human health while also mitigating climate change. This is not a debate. This is not a controversy. This is an opportunity. Don't miss it. https://youtu.be/R2gSTcy7Mdc @CarbonCaptureShield

What if I told you that the secret to saving the world from climate change lies beneath your feet? That the soil is alive with microscopic creatures that can capture carbon from the air and transform it into organic matter? That by harnessing these creatures, we can regenerate our lands, our crops and our health? Sounds like science fiction, right? But it's not. It's science fact. And it's happening right now. In this video, Dr. David Johnson, a leading researcher in soil microbiology and regenerative agriculture, reveals how he and his colleagues are unlocking the potential of soil microbes to create a more sustainable and resilient future for humanity and the planet. This is not a fantasy. This is not a hoax. This is real. And it's fascinating. Watch the video and learn more about this groundbreaking discovery that could change everything. https://youtu.be/ATRuhrj4v1k @CarbonCaptureShield

This leaked United Nations report reveals the world's temperature hasn't risen for the last 15 years… It’s the result of six years’ work by UN’s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), which is seen as the “world authority” on climate change and what’s causing it. Governments around the world base their green policies on the IPCC’s recommendations. We don’t need “climate alarmism.” We simply need to step into our role as STEWARDS of Earth instead of acting as plunderers… We intend to lead by example, rather than telling others what to do. With great power comes great responsibility. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2425775/Climate-scientists-told-cover-fact-Earths-temperature-risen-15-years.html @CarbonCaptureShield

Jacques Fresco was a unique human and “futurist” who spent his life redesigning human civilization to better harmonize with Mother Earth. I had the pleasure of volunteering with his organization after taking an art class he taught back in 2009. He passed in 2017 - but his vision lives on in those he inspired, such as myself! @CarbonCaptureShield

Have you seen the new “Polar Wildlife Report” from the “Global Warming Policy Foundation”? They were SHOCKED to find wildlife
Have you seen the new “Polar Wildlife Report” from the “Global Warming Policy Foundation”? They were SHOCKED to find wildlife and nature BOOMING: “There were no reports from either hemisphere in 2022 that would suggest polar wildlife is suffering as a result of reduced sea-ice extent; overall primary productivity (plant photosynthesis) has increased; a new sea-ice predictive model acknowledges previous flaws and does not predict a future decline until 2050 at the earliest.” We’re all for taking better care of our planet - but we do NOT support “climate alarmism” nor pretending CO2 is the problem. The climate always changes, and plants are nature’s terraformers - creating stable microclimates and even controlling the weather. We should ALL take better care of living ecosystems, and recognize that we exist because of them. Our food, fuel, fiber - even our water and oxygen - all come from living ecosystems. Even oil is supposedly fossilized remains of ancient life. Let’s take care of that life, as stewards! Here’s the full report for those interested: https://www.thegwpf.org/content/uploads/2023/02/Crockford-Polar-Wildlife-2022.pdf @CarbonCaptureShield

Can you spot the difference in these two aerial photographs? They are of the same patch of land, but taken six-months apart. The February photo is how decades of mismanagement had left the land. The September photo is what saved the lives of thousands of villagers - WATER! The villagers were deceived (for decades) by those who should have protected them. Their livelihoods were destroyed by a false promise of progress. Their lands were poisoned by chemicals and monocultures. Their despair drove 400,000 Indian farmers to take their own lives (since the “green revolution" took root). But some of them refused to give up hope. They chose to reclaim their ancestral wisdom and restore their sacred relationship with nature. They became the guardians of a new revolution. In this short film, we will witness their remarkable journey and see how they have transformed their barren fields into thriving oases of life. This video explores the wonders of natural farming in India, when the people take back their power by taking action to literally reshape their community. https://youtu.be/JKXGfyR5_SY?t=270 @CarbonCaptureShield

How We Are Breaking the Water Cycle and How We Can Fix It Do you know how water moves around our planet? Do you know what happens when we interfere with this natural cycle? Do you know how we can restore it? Water is essential for life on Earth. It travels from the oceans to the sky, from the sky to the land, and from the land back to the oceans. This is called the water cycle. But we are breaking the water cycle by cutting down trees and plants and destroying soil. These living things help water evaporate into the air and form clouds. Without them, there is less water vapor in the air, which means less rainfall, more droughts, and more floods. We are also breaking the water cycle by designing modern landscapes that drain water quickly to rivers, lakes and the ocean. These artificial surfaces prevent water from soaking into the ground and being filtered by natural processes. Instead, they carry pollutants that harm aquatic life and human health. This animation explains how we are breaking the water cycle and how we can fix it. It is based on decades of research by scientists who have studied how vegetation and soil affect climate. Watch this animation to learn more about the water cycle and how we can protect it. Share it with your friends and family. Join us in considering the water cycle and restoring soil health. Together, we can save our planet’s precious water by saving our soil! @CarbonCaptureShield

This right here is the problem CAUSING droughts and flood: DRAINING WATER AWAY FROM THE LANDSCAPE. Rain is supposed to be soaked into the ground by a living carpet of plants and trees, feeding subsoil life that turns dirt into a “soil sponge” that soaks up megaliters of water: both preventing floods while releasing this water during droughts. Modern cities and suburbs are designs to DRAIN this water away, where it gathers pollutants and then drains to the nearest river, lake, and/or ocean… Instead - we want to regenerate Earth’s shield: Living Soil. This will restore water tables with purified water filtered through organisms adapted to up-cycling nutrients and digesting pollutants. Let’s re-think how we interface with nature. https://t.me/c/1563016391/3167 @CarbonCaptureShield
