People are asking me regarding the Feast of First Fruits as today is the first Sunday after Passover. During the time of Jesus there was a dispute between the Pharisees and the Sadducees regarding this holiday. Why? The Bible is giving us an exact date for Passover but when it comes to First Fruits Leviticus 23 only mentions “The first day after the Sabbath”. The Pharisees interpreted this, based on oral traditions, to be the first day after the Passover sabbath while the sadducees took it literally and suggested that the first day after the a Sabbath must always be a the first day of the week - thus it must always fall on a Sunday. Since Jesus fulfilled Passover, unleavened bread and firstfruits, most likely during that year Passover was on Friday and firstfruits was on Sunday. Modern rabbinical Judaism is based on oral traditions and the Pharisaic way - thus this year’s first fruits was last week .

Tonight is the 7th day of Passover. This is according to Exodus 12:16 the second holy convocation after Passover Eve. According to rabbinical tradition this is the time of the crossing of the Red Sea. This is when Jews around the world are reading from Exodus 15:1-18. “Then Moses and the children of Israel sang this song to the Lord, and spoke, saying: “I will sing to the Lord, For He has triumphed gloriously! The horse and its rider He has thrown into the sea! The Lord is my strength and song, And He has become my salvation; He is my God, and I will praise Him; My father’s God, and I will exalt Him.   The Lord is a man of war; The Lord is His name.” Please take the time to read the entire song of Moses! Just like then we are facing now many Pharaohs chariots and horses behind us and a massive Red Sea in front of us. The same God of Israel will fight for us today!
