A Day in the Life June 28, 1914 “When news reached Munich that the Archduke Franz Ferdinand had been murdered, I was at home all day and didn’t get the particulars of how it happened. At first I feared that the shots may have been fired by some German-Austrian students who had become furiously aroused by his pro-Slav activities, and wished to free Germans from this internal enemy. But soon afterwards, I heard the names of the presumed assassins, and also that they were known to be Serbs. I was somewhat dumbfounded by the inscrutable vengeance that destiny had wrought.” — from Mein Kampf (1925) by Adolf Hitler, The Dual German-English translation by Dr. Thomas Dalton, Clemens & Blair Edition, 2017, Vol. I, Chap. 5, p. 315]

Martin Friedrich mentions something similar in his book ‘Hitler Avatāra’, Clemens & Blair, p. 38: “The Avatāra exists, therefore the vessel does not; that is, the Avatāra is an event, not a man — a state of being, not a being.” From what I can gather, this sort of sounds along the lines of Heidegger’s philosophy.

Ed Odyssey Confessional This book sounds interesting to me, because I’m unversed (yet curious) in the philosophy of Matin Heidegger, and I’ve never seen that movie ‘The Birds’ by Alfred Hitchcock. I think I will order it. 🙋🏼‍♂️ https://counter-currents.com/2024/06/now-available-derek-hawthornes-being-the-birds-or-everything-you-always-wanted-to-know-about-heidegger-but-were-afraid-to-ask-hitchcock/

“Hawthorne argues that The Birds depicts a Heideggerian “event” (Ereignis): a sudden and fundamental transformation of the meaning of everything. Modern men believe we are masters of our own destiny. Heidegger calls this “humanism”, and rejects it completely.” — book review by Counter-Currents

When France surrendered, Adolf Hitler walked towards the statue of the Marshal of France Ferdinand Foch (from WWI), and took a long look at it. But why did he do this? Because on November 11, 1918, Foch accepted the German request for an armistice, and Foch later advocated for peace terms that would make Germany unable to pose a threat to France ever again. He considered the Treaty of Versailles too lenient on Germany. And, after the reading of the preamble of the November 1918 Armistice, Foch left the carriage in a move that was perceived as humiliating to the defeated Germans. Thus in 1940, after the defeat of France by Germany early in WWII when France signed an armistice with Germany, Adolf Hitler, in a calculated gesture of disdain to the French delegates, left the carriage, as Foch had done in 1918.
