The Father's Monarchy The Greek Fathers and the whole Christian Orient speak, in this regard, of the "Father's Monarchy," and the Western tradition, following St. Augustine, also confesses that the Holy Spirit takes his origin from the Father principaliter, that is, as principle (De Trinitate XV, 25, 47, P.L. 42, 1094-1095). In this sense, therefore, the two traditions recognize that the "monarchy of the Father" implies that the Father is the sole Trinitarian Cause (Aitia) or Principle (Principium) of the Son and the Holy Spirit. 🔗Catholic Culture

Japan just spent $600 Million hollowing out a mountain to construct a neutrino observatory utilising 40,000 photodetectors that are powerful enough to detect a flashlight on the moon, to help unlock the mysteries of the universe. We spent the same on accommodating foreigners who could mouth the word 'asylum' last year alone. 🔗 newstalk.com 👉🏻 join Late Stage Ireland

As highlighted a few days back, a physically healthy 29 year old woman was to be euthanized, sadly it was carried out yesterday. The young woman had depression and anxiety. We pray for this young lady's soul. Ultimately God will judge, having regard, I'm sure, to a severe mental health condition the poor woman suffered with. This is a problem, but the problem isn't with the poor young woman suffering, it is the society we live in. I won't belittle mental health because I have the same condition. It is suffocating and incessant. However, we live in a world where we have lost the ability to suffer rightly. To suffer rightly simply refers to the existence of a true meaning to life. The ultimate meaning of life is to live a life with Christ at its centre. Can it be difficult? You betcha. Life, absent Christ is even worse. I hear atheists say, your belief in God is a crutch, but that rather makes the case for us. A crutch is a stick or implement that offers support to a weakened leg. Christ is the source of all support. I'm sure the atheist's mean that we use Christ as a placebo to make us feel comfortable, there again; true. Christ, in the same way as crutches, does exist so of course we would lean on Him. The most worrying aspect of this young woman's death is that many people have supported her decision. "It was her life, so it was her choice". Ultimately we belong to God so that isn't our decision to make. For atheists and ala carte Christians, it raises secular matters such as the imposition of undue influence upon those already in a state of mental torment. Informed consent cannot occur in a state of torment. "(Depressive) patients often experience negative cognitive bias, motivational deficits, indecision, and other dysfunctions that may bias their evaluations of risk and reward, resulting in inappropriate risky decision-making" , a quote taken from a journal on international psychology. Surely to goodness, the greatest risk taking today is talking to a clinic that provides euthanasia services, ergo, was this poor woman fit to make the decision in the first place? We have heard stories from Canada where instead of Governments investing in assisting the suffering, people are given "the option" of killing themselves. It is a cheaper option for the State. We live in a world where in one year alone 250,000 abortions occurred in England and Wales That is a massacre. We hear people talk about Palestine's death rates but 250,000 aborted babies is not even discussed let alone protested against. Students would rather cheer it on (not all of course). We have suicide at record numbers, marriages falling apart "I need to find myself", sexualisation of children, women used and abused as surrogates for certain homosexuals, some clergy and nuns cheering all this on. Suffering, by and on, its very own terms is hard. It is part of the human condition, none escape it who can feel at all. Our society faces two options, reject God and therefore reject all meaning, or embrace Christ and use your suffering to get closer to Him. Our civilization prospered doing the latter, our souls more so.

For the love of God, check in on your vulnerable relatives and neighbours. What kind of country have we become when people lay dead for years before being discovered. This is NOT the Ireland we grew up in. This is the fat left/ liberal utopia that was promised. This country is going into the sewer, and largely because we forgot God.

A woman lay dead for up to three years. Nobody noticed. MARIA MAYNES writes about the mounting number of people in Ireland who are so isolated that when they die, even their neighbours don't notice. https://gript.ie/state-of-isolation-the-rise-of-the-un-noticed-dead/
