Light-transmitting concrete is a combination of a fine-grained cementitious mass with small optical fiber threads or tubes that are commonly used in telecommunication networks. If the proportion of these fibers does not exceed 5% of the total mass, the material properties remain comparable to lightweight concrete, without significant loss in strength and durability.
The "transparency" of the material is not dependent on its thickness, as the optical fibers allow the passage of light along the fibers with minimal losses (up to 20 meters).
