Private firms get Rs.25,000 cr share in HAL’s 156 LCH mega deal
In April 2025, the Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) secured a big deal of Rs.62,500 crore from the Cabinet Committee on Security(CCS) to supply 156 Light Combat Helicopters (LCH) to the Indian Army (IA) and the Indian Air Force(IAF). After getting this deal, HAL has planned to give about Rs.25,000 crore(40%) worth of work to private companies. ✓ The Light Combat Helicopter (LCH), named Prachand, is the only attack helicopter in the world capable of taking off and landing at altitudes as high as 5,000 meters(m) (16,400 feet).
