It means the market believes inflation will rise in future hence why people want government to pay them more interest for lending it money and so gold is a good idea as it beats inflation. Why inflation? Could be belief that government spending shown by budget deficit means money supply high ie value of money (supply and demand) drops so want more compensation for giving today’s valuable currency to government who returns something less valuable in future. | 286 |
