PhD Opportunity – December 2025 Intake (Through External Fellowship) Medical Instrumentation and Electronics Laboratory Department of Biotechnology and Medical Engineering National Institute of Technology Rourkela, Odisha, India, 769008. We invite applications for full-time PHD positions under the external fellowship category under the supervision of Prof. Kunal Pal at the Medical Instrumentation and Electronics Laboratory, National Institute of Technology, Rourkela. Admission will be as per the Institute norms. Only those students who have qualified CSIR-NET, or DBT, or ICMR, and have a valid JRF certificate I.e. have secured a full 5-year funding are able to apply. I. Eligibility A. M.Tech in Biotechnology or Bioinformatics or any other branch of life sciences (See the institute criteria) OR M.Sc. in any branch of life sciences with a robust academic proforma OR M.Pharm from a PCI recognised institution with valid fellowship (Note: The candidate should have Mathematics in Class 12, applicable for all the streams). II. Research Areas: Candidates will be able to work in either of these major research domains and also he or she can tailor the research topic after due discussion with the PI of the lab:- 1.Device development, Artificial Intelligence and Machine learning. 2. Food technology and food processing, Food biotechnology 3. Biomedical Signal Processing and analysis 4.
