#Ecthyma gangrenosum (EG) is a cutaneous lesion classically associated with potentially fatal Pseudomonas septicemia in immunocompromised patients.

Streptococcus pyogenes and Staphylococcus aureus are the bacteria responsible for ecthyma

▪Ecthyma is a skin infection characterised by crusted sores beneath which ulcers form. It is a deep form of impetigo, as the same bacteria causing the infection are involved. Ecthyma causes deeper erosions of the skin into the dermis.

¤Molluscum contagiosum is a common cutaneous infection due a pox virus. It is an infectious disease It mainly presents in childhood as multiple soft umbilicated papules. Thick white material can be expressed from the middle of the papules. They are often clustered in the flexures especially axillae and genital areas. ¤Molluscum lesions are most commonly found on the face, arms, legs, torso, and armpits in children. ■ Adults typically have molluscum lesions in the genital region and this is considered to be a sexually transmitted infection; because of this, if genital lesions are found on a child, sexual abuse should be suspected
