Thiago Silva:
"People are looking at my age a lot, but I’d prefer it if people would refer to it as experience, rather than 'oldest player this, oldest player that'. But, in general, I feel very privileged and my main focus is on performing well."

"No, no [surgery has not been ruled out]. Monday we will know. Monday we will know more about how we will proceed, about whether it is necessary or not."
On injured players:
"You ask me about Nkunku, it is like a new signing because we didn’t use except for pre-season. Romeo Lavia will be fit in maybe one week or 10 days. These are two players who still haven’t made their debuts."
"Chilly and Fofana, who maybe needs more time, but we need two, three or four more players not making their debuts with us or are key players for us..."
"We are in a project and we have signed players and have a new squad but a list of injured since the beginning and it was massive."
"My decision to sign here was because I trust [the owners]. And now because we don’t get the results that we wanted, it’s [not] that I do not trust. I am going to keep trusting because the club is showing me that they trust in my job."
"People need to know when you want to build in the way we want to build, it's always circumstances. With young players you need some time and luck. But that's the problem when a young team receives too many hits..."
"We have a lot of injury issues and it's like building a house and some of the stuff are not there but we need to keep believing. The roof? Not there yet. We have good people building the house, good architects."
"We have the best company, architects, very creative and good - already proven. But when you want to build something you need solid foundations which sometimes are affected because of the nature of the circumstances."
"You dig the hole and there is water, it is not because of the company. An unexpected situation which delays the possibility to move quicker than you expected. Unfortunately we received too many hits against us."
