#Essay25 ✅Q: Nowadays many people have access to computers on a regular basis, and a large number of children play computer games. What are the negative impacts of playing computer games, and what can be done to minimize the bad effects? 📚Answer: The computer game industry has been booming over the past few decades, and the number of game players has been rapidly increasing. Among these players, children constitute a large proportion. Playing computer games for extensive periods of time has inevitable negative effects. This essay will outline those impacts and suggest appropriate solutions to address them. To start with, children will have some trouble if they sit in front of the monitor for too long. First, the personality of a child can be affected by inappropriate game content. Nowadays, many popular games usually focus on violence because that can make players feel excited. As a result, children who regularly play such games learn bad behavior, and may even commit crime that they learn from violent games. Moreover, playing computer games for hours can cause serious problems for their health. In fact, many children are taken to hospital because they play computer games day and night and do not get sufficient nutrition or sleep. The rate of children who have problems with their eyes, hands, or spine is increasing every year. Nevertheless, there are several effective solutions to deal with this issue. First, games companies should verify the age of players, and they can reduce the violent content and promote educational games. Parents also have an important part to play. They can limit the time to play computer games and encourage their children to take up healthy hobbies, outdoor activities and sports. That would have a positive effect on children's physical and mental health as well as improve their social skills. In conclusion, playing computer games can detrimentally affect children's health and development and needs to be controlled. Parents in particular should limit the time children spend playing computer games and should encourage them to participate in healthy physical activities. [298 words] Band: 7.5 @IELTS_TASK2 🌼

#Essay24 ✅Q: Explain some of the ways in which humans are damaging the environment. What can governments do to address these problems? What can individual people do? 📚Answer: Today, the environment is facing a variety of challenges and pressures at an unprecedented level. Although there are several causes behind the various environmental problems in the world, effective measures can be applied by both governments and individuals to minimize, prevent or even reverse the damage. There are a number of human activities causing severe damage to the environment. First, the overexploitation of fishery resources has contributed to the reduction in biological diversity of many marine ecosystems. In fact, catching large amounts of fish means the population of those species will no longer be able to replenish itself through natural reproduction, which significantly affects the balance of life in the oceans. In addition, many large corporations, especially in manufacturing industries, use non-renewable resources unsustainably to maximize their production and profits, which takes a toll on the environment. As a result, greenhouse gas emissions released by those companies inevitably lead to global warming, which will likely have devastating effects on the planet in the near future. Nevertheless, many effective solutions exist to mitigate environmental degradation. First, by imposing legal restrictions on extractive industries, such as forestry and the fishing industry, authorities can discourage businesses operating in these industries from engaging in unsustainable practices. For example, heavy taxes levied on commercial fishing activities would discourage many fishers from catching excessive quantities, which can be helpful to marine environmental sustainability. Second, in order to reduce urban air pollution, individuals can be encouraged to make greater use of public transport, such as buses or trains instead of using their personal vehicles. This reduces their carbon footprint and ensures a healthier environment. In conclusion, people are damaging the environment in several ways, including the overexploitation of natural resources, industrial pollution and greenhouse gas emissions. Nevertheless, governments and citizens should cooperate to ensure a sustainable use of natural resources and to reduce pollution in the biosphere. This will mean a healthier environment for future generations. [319 words] 🖊 Band: 7.5 + @IELTS_TASK2 🌸

#Essay23 ✅Q: As well as making money, businesses also have social responsibilities. Do you agree or disagree? 📚Answer: The idea that, besides earning money, businesses should also have social responsibilities remains a source of controversy. Nevertheless, I do agree that although earning money is the top priority of companies, they should also conduct their businesses in a socially responsible manner. On the one hand, there are some reasons why generating profit is of paramount importance to companies. First, by earning more money, companies would be able to bear the burden of monthly running costs like staff salaries and rent, which is a matter of survival in an increasingly competitive market. This means that if they had the capital to maintain and expand their operations, they could create more job opportunities for the people living in the community. Second, the higher the profits earned by enterprises, the more taxes they pay to the government. As a result, the authorities would have more revenue to spend on various sectors, including education and healthcare, which leads to an improvement in the quality of life in society. On the other hand, enterprises should also have social responsibilities. In terms of the environment, many firms, especially in manufacturing industries, need to be aware of the pollution caused by their processes and waste products, including those that contribute to global warming. Companies, therefore, are required to dispose of waste, especially chemical by-products, in a socially responsible and environmentally friendly manner. With regard to social activities, large corporations should pay back into the community and people through sponsorship of charity and social programs. Microsoft Corporation, for instance, spends millions of dollars annually to offer food and other necessities for needy children all around the world, which ensures an acceptable standard of living for them. In conclusion, while earning money is an integral objective of companies, social responsibilities towards the environment and local communities are important as well. #Essay21 ✅Q: Rich countries often give money to poorer countries, but it does not solve poverty. Therefore, developed countries should give other types of help to the poor countries rather than financial aid. To what extent do you agree or disagree? What other kinds of aid could be provided? 📚 Answer: With the wealth gap gradually widening, prosperous countries often make financial donations as aid to poorer ones. However, many argue that this approach is not necessarily the most effective for alleviating poverty. I concur with that, and I firmly believe that giving money is not the only way to help poor nations. To being with, the phenomenal failure of money donations is often attributed to poor management of that aid. Firstly, as a result of corruption, the money may not reach the people who most need it. In other words, there would be some people taking that money for personal use. In fact, it is quite common for international aid money to end up in the pockets of the political elite in such countries. Thus, overseas financial donations can actually lead to increased corruption instead of helping the poor people of those countries. Secondly, money is only capable of solving temporary problems, but longer-term ones like famine which last long are difficult to tackle by this kind of approach. So in the long run, financial donations are not as effective as other long-term investments. Instead of donating money, the rich countries can adopt different measures to help the poorer ones. First, they can provide advanced technology to poor countries to help them improve productivity. This can lead to economic growth and alleviate social problems such as poverty in a sustainable way. Second, developed countries can provide professional training to raise the skill levels of the workforce in poorer ones. To be clearer, if workers in poor countries have the necessary up-to-date knowledge and skills in their fields, they will remain competitive and productive. Therefore, investment in technology and training in poor countries would be a much better kind of aid. In conclusion, donating money is not the best way for the rich countries to help the poorer ones. It can lead to corruption and it is not as good as long-term investments in training and technology. #Essay20 ✅Q: The land for parks is wasted and should be used for other purposes. Do you agree or disagree? 📚 Answer: Parks are a feature of many, if not most, urban settings. However, there is an argument that the land used for parks in towns and cities should be used for alternative purposes. I strongly disagree with this idea. Firstly, experts agree that the best way to restore body and mind is to spend time in nature, and do regular physical exercise there. This is crucial because the majority of the population in many countries live in cities. As society becomes more centered on city life, people tend to become sedentary and stay indoors. Recent studies have also shown that spending long periods of time in built-up areas results in emotional fatigue and poor concentration. On the other hand, time spent in parks has the opposite effects. For example, the British report a high level of satisfaction when they spend most of their holidays outdoors in their National Trust parks. Perhaps the rest of the world should follow their lead. Moreover, teenagers are the most negatively affected by the city life. Some parents are reluctant to let their children play freely in town, concerned about their health and safety, and so those youngsters miss out on being out in the natural environment and have no chance to do regular physical activities. That leads to an increased risk of childhood obesity and depression, hence the pressing need for municipal parks. On top of this, parks provide essential green space in the city and help keep the level of pollutants and greenhouse gases down. Those gases emitted by vehicles are responsible for thousands of deaths per year as well as for the rising incidence of lung cancer in children. However, the vegetation in the parks removes pollutants while the leaves filter the carbon dioxide and release oxygen. Thus, city parks function as a green lung in urban areas which helps keep us healthy. In summary, although some argue that the land for parks in urban areas is wasted, the benefits that parks have been contributing to our societies are undeniable, so obviously I do not support the idea of using that land for other purposes. #Essay19 ✅Q: In some parts of the world it is becoming popular to research the history of one’s own family. Why might people want to do this? Is it a positive or negative development? 📚 Answer: Genealogy is not a new field and people, especially the noble class, have always been keen on knowing more about the history of their families and ancestors. However, it has recently enjoyed more popularity with many ordinary people, especially in the western world, trying to fill in the gaps in their family trees; a trend I personally disapprove of. One reason many people are curious about their family history these days is that it is often fun to trace back one’s bloodline and find out if one is related to any famous people. I remember a recent story about how a common supermarket clerk in Nevada was discovered to be a descendant of a British king. Many such descendants live completely ordinary lives, to which a discovery like that can bring many thrills. Additionally, it would definitely help people to realize how their families have changed though the years and, therefore, learn a thing or two about the causes of failure and prosperity in different generations. Nevertheless, many individuals who find themselves related to the nobility tend to consider tiny shares of noble blood as birthright to more respect. They, for instance, often demand seats in public transport when there are more deserving people like pregnant women or the elderly aboard. Apart from that, some of them might overgeneralize the role of factors which have contributed to a former generation’s condition, be it inherited wealth or even bad luck, to their own and disregard the value of their own ideas, efforts and current status. In conclusion, I am not sure if the growing trend towards researching one’s ancestors and family line is actually helping people and the society in general, and believe it must be discouraged. #Essay18 ✅Q: In the future, it seems it will be more difficult to live on the Earth. Some people think more money should be spent on researching other planets to live, such as Mars. To what extent do you agree or disagree with this statement? 📚 Answer: It is sometimes argued by some people that human life on Earth is becoming harder as time goes on. Resources are rapidly being depleted and the world population continues to grow exponentially. Many people hold the opinion that more money should be invested to research new planets to live on. However, I believe that this idea is unrealistic and money should be used to raise people's living standard as well as to find more practical solutions right here on Earth. On the one hand, life on Earth is becoming more unsustainable. The level of environmental pollution which affects land, water and air is rising rapidly. For example, in Vietnam, thousands of tons of industrial refuse have been discharged into rivers, which has negatively affected aquatic life. Moreover, the world is running out of natural resources as a result of uncontrolled consumption. For instance, as a consequence of industrialization and modernization, fossil fuels have been used uncontrollably to satisfy energy demands. On the other hand, I would argue that spending money to search for other planets is a waste and not practical. Firstly, space exploration would require a huge amount of funding. Indeed, it would take a lot of time and money without any guarantee of success. Secondly, money should be used to raise the living standard of ordinary citizens as well as to improve the lives of those less fortunate. Additionally, it would be more useful and practical to spend money on developing advanced technology which provides renewable resources. In conclusion, while living on Earth may appear to some to be becoming more and more difficult, I believe that financial resources should be used for maintaining and promoting sustainable life on Earth instead of looking for other planets to move to.
