I’ve thought about it more and I think I actually agree. I dislike some of the framing and conflation in your argument with that being a core problem regarding adult children but that is a different issue. After evaluating my previous experiences I do think it only works to an extent and isn’t the best way forward. The bond between the parents and child should be protected and not damaged by ineffective/damaging practices.
