| 6 |  +4From Waste to Wealth: Innovation, Sustainability, and Community Impact
GRC and RAC Finot held a fruitful General Assembly with guest speaker Engineer Yehadareshet Kassa from LaliAX Engineering. The session introduced Syner-preneurship, a model that promotes shared investment and profit-sharing among the public sector, private sector, and communities.
The discussion also highlighted innovative solutions that turn waste into wealth, including affordable housing from recycled plastics, biogas-powered self-warming fish ponds, and erosion protection systems.
A special focus was given to Yenegew Zaf (የነገው ዛፍ), a virtual tree-planting and productive hiking platform designed to promote reforestation and environmental stewardship through data-driven tracking. GRC and Rotaract clubs were invited to be part of this promising initiative.

As part of the World Environment Day follow-up activities, we proudly participated in the 3rd Productive Hiking Event on June 6, trekking 4.5 km from General Wingate Polytechnic College to Gulele Botanical Garden.
More than just a hike, the journey offered a firsthand look at innovative environmental solutions, including housing projects built from recycled plastic bottles and watershed management initiatives that support sustainable development.

| 15 |  🚨Join a Fully Funded Cycling Training – Be Part of Climate Action in Addis Ababa 🚲
Egre Menged Impact (EMi), in collaboration with the Climate and Development Knowledge Network (CDKN), is launching the project “From Bike Lanes to Climate Action: Youth-Led, Gender-Responsive Mobility in Addis Ababa.”
They are offering 60 youth the chance to join a fully funded bicycle training program.
The training will run over 2 weeks (expected to start this weekend!), with two sessions per week.
