| 4 | Gone but never forgotten. We opened the Yazidi Genocide Memorial in #Solagh #Sinjar. Having a place to grieve, particularly for those who could never bury their loved ones, is incredibly important. It is one step on the road to justice, but we have many more to go.

| 9 | Today, I had the privilege of meeting Chancellor Olaf Scholz in Berlin to discuss Germany's support for the Yazidi community in Iraq. Our conversation focused on crucial matters such as the reconstruction, stabilization of the Sinjar region and ISIS prosecutions. I also asked Mr. Scholz to consider providing more asylum opportunities for survivors and facilitating the reunification of Yazidi family members in Germany.
In addition, we discussed the pressing issue of Conflict-Related Sexual Violence (#CRSV) and the dire circumstances faced by refugees and internally displaced persons (IDPs). Germany has been at the forefront of proactive efforts to assist displaced individuals. But it is evident that a sustainable plan is urgently required for the staggering number of over 100 million people who have been uprooted from their homes due to conflicts and natural disasters worldwide. | 0 |

| 13 | My niece, Katherine and I, along with thousands of Yazidi women and girls, were taken into captivity by ISIS in 2014.
When she was separated from me in Mosul, I didn't get a chance to say goodbye to her.
Katherine and other women were held captive by Aslam Taha Al Ubaidi, an Iraqi doctor who had joined ISIS. This terrorist, along with others, was responsible for raping and enslaving Katherine and her friends.
Katherine attempted to escape more than five times, but the families in Hawija turned her back to ISIS.
She kept Almas, a nine-year-old Yazidi girl, with her, and her biggest wish was to save Almas and bring her to safety.
Katherine and two of her friends tried to escape and run away from their captors in 2016. Before they could reach safety, Katherine and Almas were killed by explosives, and their friend Lamya was critically wounded.
Seven years later, today, Katherine and Alma's remains were exhumed. | 0 |

كان هذا الإرهابي، إلى جانب العديد من الآخرين، مسؤولين عن اغتصاب واستعباد "كاثرين" وصديقاتها.
حاولت "كاثرين" الهرب أكثر من خمس مرات، ولكن العائلات في حويجة أعادتها إلى تنظيم الدولة الإسلامية ولم تساعدها على الهرب.
احتفظت كاثرين بالطفلة "ألماس" معها في الاسر وهي طفلة أيزيدية تبلغ من العمر تسع سنوات، وكان أكبر أمنية لها هي إنقاذها وإحضار "ألماس" إلى اهلها.
حاولت "كاثرين" واثنتان من صديقاتها الهروب والفرار من قبضة خاطفيهن. ومع ذلك، قبل أن يصلوا إلى مأمن، قتلت كاثرين وألماس بواسطة المتفجرات، وأصيبت صديقتهم لمياء بجروح خطيرة.

اليوم هو بمثابة عيد للمرأة وهو احتفالية لتتويج إنجازات ومساهمات المرأة فى مجتمعها وقياس حجم مجهوداتها والوقوف على المكاسب التي حققتها على مدار عاماً كاملاً من المشاركة الفعالة والنضال المتواصل واحتفاء بشجاعة وقوة النساء.
بمناسبة اليوم العالمي للمرأة، يجب ان نذكر العالم بإن الآلاف من النساء والفتيات الايزيديات لازلن في أسر تنظيم د1عش الارهابي، اليوم, لا يزال هناك ما يقارب 2700 امرأة وطفل أيزيدي يتعرضون للعنف الجنسي والجسدي والعبودية ويتم المتاجرة بهم كعبيد، سُرقتْ طفولتهم منهم وأُخذتْ استقلاليتهم الجسدية بالقوة.
استخدم د1عش بشكل منهجي العنف الجنسي ضد النساء الأيزيديات لتمزيق المجتمع من الداخل، إن إهمال هؤلاء النساء والأطفال في الأسر يعني أن الحكومة العراقية والمجتمع الدولي يسمحان لد1عش بتحقيق اهدافه التي كان يسعي لها.
ثمان سنوات هي فترة طويلة بالنسبة للنساء والأطفال لتحمل الأسر والمعاناة، لقد مضى وقت طويل على انتظار عائلاتهم لعودتهم، يستحق المفقودون وأسرهم العمل الجاد من اجلهم انقاذهم والسعي وراء المساءلة القانونية وتحقيق العدالة.
نحن على دراية تامة بالجرائم التي تُرتكب ضدهم ونسمعها بين حين وآخر عندما تتحرر إحدى النساء، نرى، نسمع، نعرب عن تعاطفنا- لكن في كل مرة يفشل العالم في التصرف، يجب ان نواجه هذه الحقيقة المستمرة لكي نستطيع ان نحدث تغيراً حقيقياً.
لنجعل اليوم العالمي للمرأة بداية جديدة، لقد فشل العالم في حماية النساء والاطفال من الجرائم المروعة، خاصة العنف الجنسي المرتبط بالصراعات، يجب علينا ان نتحدى قادتنا لجعلهم يفكروا بطرق وخطوات جريئة لتحديد مسارات جديدة لنشر السلام الذي يمكن العالم الاجتماع حوله والتصرف بموجبه.

International Women's Day

Today we celebrate the achievements and contributions women make to society, applaud their efforts, and identify the gains made during the past year.
Today, on International Women's Day, we must remember the thousands of Yazidi women and girls who remain in ISIS captivity. Today, nearly nine years after the initial genocide, there are still approximately 2,700 Yazidi women and children being subjected to violence and slavery. Their childhood has been stolen from them, and their physical autonomy was forcibly taken away. ISIS systematically used sexual violence against Yazidi women in an effort to tear the community apart. Forgetting about these women and children in captivity means that the Iraqi government and the international community are allowing ISIS to succeed.
Eight years is a long time for women and children to endure imprisonment. Both the missing persons and their families deserve action, legal accountability, and justice. The crimes are well documented. We see and hear empathy expressed. However, the world fails to act. We have to address this reality so that we can make real change.
Let International Women's Day be a new beginning. The world has failed to protect women and children from horrific crimes, especially conflict-related sexual violence, but that can change. We must challenge our leaders to think in bold ways and take steps to identify new paths to spreading peace.

يصادف اليوم، اليوم العالمي للمرآة هو احتفال عالمي في اليوم الثامن من شهر مارس / آذار من كل عام، قام الاحتفال للدلالة على الاحترام العام وتقدير وحب المرأة لإنجازاتها الاقتصادية والسياسية والاجتماعية.
بمناسبة اليوم العالمي للمرآة، دعونا نستذكر معاً بعض مشاريع دعم المرأة التي قامت “مبادرة نادية” بإنجازها الى الان:
✅ 121 مشروع صغير
✅ 471 مشروع زراعي
✅ 1087 مبالغ نقدية
✅ 137 تأثيث المنازل
✅ 41 مأوى ( بناء وتأهيل المنازل)
✅ 140 ثروة حيوانية
✅ 198 تدريبات مهنية
✅ +5000 تعليم ( المستفيدين )
✅ +60،000 الصحة ( المستفيدين )
ولكن لا تزال هناك العديد من النساء في سنجار بحاجة ماسة الى دعم حقيقي لبناء حياتهن والتأقلم مع واقعهن بعد تعرضهن الى الكثير من الصدمات.
مبادرة نادية تسعى جاهداً الى خلق بيئة مثالية للاندماج واكثر تمكناً لبناء مجتمع متمسك واقوى.
International Women’s Day.
Today marks International Women's Day, a global celebration on the eighth day of March each year. The celebration is made to demonstrate public respect, appreciation, and love of women for their economic, political, and social achievements.
On the occasion of International Women's Day, let's remember together some of the women's support projects that Nadia’s Initiative has accomplished so far:
✅ 121 small business projects.
✅ 471 agricultural projects.
✅ 1,087 cash.
✅ 137 home furnishing.
✅ 41 shelters (building and rehabilitating houses).
✅ 140 livestock projects.
✅ 198 vocational training.
✅ 5,000+ education (beneficiaries).
✅ 60,000+ health (beneficiaries).
But there are still many women in Sinjar who are in sore need of real support to build their lives and cope with their reality after being traumatized.
