Mann Taluka in Satara district was one of them. The prolonged drought had many consequences. One of them was the distress sale of cattle. Local non-profits and the government has set up numerous cattle camps in which the people have come to stay for the past 6 months as the most basic necessities - water, food and fodder have become completely unavailable in their villages.
