The Extreme Lengths To Grow Taller: Limb-Lengthening Surgery In India | Undercover Asia
An investigation into a growing trend in limb lengthening surgery in India, where certain men and women who believe their heights are ruining their lives, are having operations to grow taller.
The film follows the progress of two men who have the procedure, starting inside the operating theatre as their surgeon breaks their legs before attaching rods, frames and bolts for the lengthening process to begin. It charts their recovery over months as they grow a millimetre at a time before struggling to get back onto their feet.
Undercover Asia also tracks down another young man who was left crippled by limb lengthening surgery and examines why height is so important in Indian society, talking to agents who cast models and actors in Bollywood and women who are on a hunt for prospective life partners.

Amazon, Jeff Bezos and collecting data
No company stores more data than Amazon, the former online bookseller. Amazon boss Jeff Bezos has become the richest man in the world. Every second Euro in online trading is spent at Amazon. Is the IT giant, with its unabated growth, about to turn our economic system upside down?
Amazon is a machine that can simultaneously observe, compare and analyze more than 300 million people worldwide. The company is not just a marketplace, market supervisor and provider of more and more services and consumer items - it also controls all the data streams in this market and uses them to its own benefit. Who suspects that a single click on an Amazon page will forward information to the company that fills a printed DIN-A-4 page? A conversation with Alexa, watching a streaming offer on Amazon-Prime, ordering vegetables via Amazon-Fresh - all this put together creates a whole library of information about every customer.
The group collects everything - it just won’t reveal what conclusions it draws from it. What would be possible if data from other, new business areas were added? In the USA, Amazon is also active in the health and insurance sectors, and police officers are using its facial recognition software to search for wanted persons.

How cash is becoming a thing of the past | Banking Documentary
Cashless payments are on the rise. They are fast, easy and convenient. Worldwide, cashless transactions have become the norm.
But Germany’s central bank and government are still clinging on to cash. Can they stop the move towards a cashless society? Our documentary shows who is behind the worldwide anti-cash lobby. Banks want to get rid of coins and bills for cost reasons, and politicians think less cash will cut the rug out from under criminals and terrorists. Central bankers want to abolish cash because it would make it easier for them to enforce negative interest rates. And digital payment companies like Paypal or Visa simply want to profit from money transactions and collect as much financial data about consumers as they can. Their aim is to gain complete control over our buying behavior.
For example, the "Better than Cash Alliance" in New York is supported by financial corporations such as Visa or Mastercard. They say the more people that are integrated into the international financial system, the more growth and jobs it will promote. But as our financial behavior becomes more and more transparent, states are also using payment data to find out more about us. The ordinary citizen’s view of cash as a store of value, independent of third party interests, is being increasingly ignored. But for them, cash is and will remain a symbol of freedom.

Johnson & Johnson kept selling their hip implants in India after they were recalled in the US.
Despite Johnson and Johnson's hip implants being recalled in Australia in 2007 and America in 2010, they kept selling it via doctors to unsuspecting patients in India till almost 2014. Only now is the government doing something about it; whether they will be able to enforce any compensation remains to be seen.
See Bisbo's highly enlightening video and remember that despite what experts may say, in absence of proper compensation laws in India, we all need to do out own research before accepting an "expert's" opinion.
